Description
Last year, the debut album “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT” caused a buzz with the “JAZZ JAPAN TOUR 1979”. That impact is happening again! This time, the new excavation is from the “April 13, 1979: Nippon Budokan” performance. This is the concert held the day before “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT”. Our store has archived the third Japan tour with many classic live albums. This is a good opportunity to organize your collection in your schedule.・April 13: Nippon Budokan [this work]・April 14: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT”・April 19 + 20: Osaka Festival Hall・April 21: Jissen Ethics Memorial Hall・April 23: Nippon Budokan “PRIDE AND JOY”・April 24: Nippon Budokan・April 25: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 1979″・April 27: Kobe Central Gymnasium・April 28: Nagoya International Exhibition Hall “THE PLEASURE CHEST”・April 30 + May 1: Fukuoka Kyuden Gymnasium “MEMORIAL GYM”・May 2: Yamaguchi Prefectural Gymnasium・May 5 + 6: Makomanai Ice Arena*Note: Only representative works on each day. 15 performances in total. This is the biggest tour in the history of QUEEN’s visit to Japan, and the Nippon Budokan performance in this work was the first day of the concert. Although last year’s topical work “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT” was the world’s first appearance master, the contents of the show itself were already known. However, this work’s “April 13th” is not like that. Although only the second half of the show has been released, this work is a definitive live album recorded in full show in one go. [Exquisite new excavation full master] Such a work is a truly magnificent audience sound. It was released on the Internet very recently, and maniacs all over the world are excited that “The first day in Japan has finally been excavated!” It is a master, but it is not a shock just by the first public release. The sound was also excellent. When you play this work, you will flinch for a moment at the beginning of the slightly distorted sound, but that is only at the beginning. It improves rapidly, and by the time you enter the third song “Somebody To Love”, a completely stable and exquisite sound space spreads. Although it is not as close as the sound board, the performance and singing voice that reach you straight are strong and wonderfully clear. And the vintage on-site feeling is also very realistic and wonderful. What is most realistic is the yellow screams that tell the popularity of the time. Idol-like screams that are typical of the late 70s fly from all over the place. Sometimes it’s like a ripple from far away, sometimes the whole venue boils at once. There is a sense of perspective and three-dimensionality that makes you feel like you can see Freddie’s every move. What’s more, it’s wonderful because it doesn’t block the music. Although there is clapping nearby, the yellow screams are far away, and the clear musical tones are overwhelming from beginning to end. You can enjoy the mood of QUEEN in its prime and the “Western music prime” that is different from any other country in the world at the same time. This work is a masterpiece that has been further polished by remastering such an excellent master. At our shop, we have received cooperation from a world authority on QUEEN research, but this time the overseas researcher himself mastered it. Compared to the Netmaster, there is much less hiss, and the randomly out-of-tune pitch is accurate. Of course, as a researcher who truly loves QUEEN, he has a deep understanding of “how the sound on-site should have been,” and the natural “ringing” of the recording itself is fully utilized. The recording itself is in the midst of being distributed all over the world, but this work is the “best of its kind.” [A great performance that overturns the common sense that “Japan was in a bad mood in 1979”] The quality depicts the “full picture of the first day” that no one has ever heard before. As mentioned above, the latter half part has already been released, but the real pleasure of a full show recording is a first-time experience. Since it was a consecutive performance of two Nippon Budokan performances, “Fat Bottomed Girls,” which was not included in “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT,” will also be played, but more than that, every song is a series of moments that you hear for the first time, even up to one MC. The MC “I can hear you well!” at “Somebody To Love” on the second day of the Nippon Budokan has become a legend, but on the first day, it was only “Good evening everyone, how are you?” (laughs). What’s even more amazing is Freddie, who is in good health. Speaking of “Japan in 1979”, Freddie had a cold due to the harsh schedule, and there were many days when he was quite distressed. However, this work is only the first day, so there are still no abnormalities in his physical condition. Although “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT” was also in good condition, this work unfolds a great performance that overseas enthusiasts will say “It’s definitely Mercury’s best show of the Japanese tour!!” Especially wonderful is “Spread Your Wings”. Although it was played up to the Kanazawa performance, it is a masterpiece that was cut in the second half of the Japanese tour because Freddie was not feeling well. However, in this work, he sings it beautifully without any problems. Moreover, the audience watching Freddie also claps as if they are participating in the performance, and it is wrapped in a wonderful sense of unity. This work is also a live album that allows you to immerse yourself in such an emotional atmosphere. The first full performance in Japan in 1979 was finally discovered. What was contained there was a wonderful sound and Freddie’s original brilliance. This is the best version, passionately created by a QUEEN expert who was impressed by the new discovery.
