Description

At the end of 1975, the single “Bohemian Rhapsody” caught fire and QUEEN’s fate was decided. A masterpiece live album that conveys that scorching scene is now available. This work includes “Dandy Performance December 31, 1975”. This is the audience recording. First of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at the time when not only their fate but also rock history itself changed greatly. ●1975《Single “Bohemian Rhapsody” released on October 31st》・November 14th-19th: UK a (6 performances)《“A Night at the Opera” released on November 21st》・November 21st-12th March 24th: UK B (19 performances) ←★Here★ ●1976・January 27th-March 13th: North America (34 performances)・March 22nd-April 4th: Japan (9 performances)・April 11th-22nd: Australia (8 performances) [Production of “Brilliant Lace” begins in July] This is the overall picture of “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA TOUR”. The single “Bohemian Rhapsody” was released at the end of October and was a huge hit, staying at number one on the UK charts for nine consecutive weeks. This work is the 15th performance of “Britain B”, which was held in the middle of that period. This tour is also famous for the Christmas live “A NIGHT AT THE ODEON” which was also made official, but it was a concert before the 4th performance. This work, which records such a show, is a truly wonderful vintage audience. After all, the neat sound is exquisite. Although it is not a close recording that can be mistaken for a sound board, the freshness of the master is outstanding and the atmosphere is transparent. Both the performance and the singing voice penetrate straight through the center and reach the audience beautifully. In particular, Freddie’s singing voice allows you to hear every word of the lyrics, and enjoy the delicate subtleties. “Stone Cold Crazy” at the end of one side of the recording tape has slightly deteriorated, and “Doing All Right” is cut off, but it is a famous recording whose clarity permeates the heart. The show drawn with that sound is also wonderful. The quality of the symbolic work “A NIGHT AT THE ODEON” of this period was official as expected, but the important Freddie and Brian suffered from influenza. The sharpness and momentum were not good enough. However, this work is different. At the venue, “Bohemian Rhapsody” was currently climbing to the top of the charts, and the audience was enthusiastic as they gathered to see the band that wrote such strange and amazing songs. From the start of the performance, there was a tremendous excitement with loud choruses of “We want QUEEN!!” and foot stomps. Freddie, who witnessed the reaction, started flying and singing from the very beginning. He thrusts forward with intense tension. Moreover, it is nice that it is usually a full show. “A NIGHT AT THE ODEON” was a little short because it was a special performance that also included TV filming, but this work is over 95 minutes long. You can enjoy plenty of “Sweet Lady,” “Flick Of The Wrist,” “The Prophet’s Song,” “Stone Cold Crazy,” and “Doing All Right,” which you can’t hear even in that official video. “Sweet Lady” and “The Prophet’s Song” are new songs, but even here, just calling out the song title brings out an explosive applause. The atmosphere of Britain, which was also in the midst of a huge explosion with the album “A Night at the Opera,” comes out of the speakers. “The Prophet’s Song” has a freshness that seems to be lost in improvisation, but it also has the scent of late 1975. It is a live album that will take you to the fullest. Even though I think it’s a cliché to say, “If you touch it, it’s going to burn you,” I can’t help but use it. The audience and QUEEN were scorching hot. Britain in 1975 was buzzing with masterpieces that expanded the possibilities of rock music. This is a masterpiece of a historical live album that allows you to experience the scene with 100% real sound. This is a turning point in history.
