Description
From the must-have series for Queen fans, this title compiles the culmination of early live performances with the latest AI remix in 2024. The 1973 BBVC live performance has been restored with the latest AI remix in 2024, recreating the original live performance in perfect form for the first time, and all songs are recorded in an uncut complete version. In addition, each performance at the Rainbow Theatre in 1974 is recorded in chronological order with different mixes of sound sources, including video soundtracks, acetate records, and precious treasured sound sources, based on the original sound sources of the master reels. While these live sound sources are already well known to fans, this time it is a new remix version in 2024 that has been updated to be different from the previous ones. First of all, Disc: 1 contains the complete uncut version of the Golders Green Hippodrome performance in London on September 13, 1973, which is said to be the oldest live sound source in existence. Here, the important point is that “Procession”, “From Father to Son” and “Ogre Battle” from the pre-release “Queen II” are performed on early prototypes, but the essential lead vocals are off-mixed in the past, and some songs are barely audible. This was the same with the official BBC recordings, but this time, for the first time, the latest AI demixing technology has been used to separate and extract the vocals, and they have been newly remixed, so the original live performance is reproduced in perfect form, and the vocals are as if Freddie had re-recorded them. Next, the live performance at the Rainbow Theatre in March 1974, also recorded for BBC radio broadcast, is recorded from the master reel sound source, and this is also a representative early live recording used in the famous “Sheetkickers” from the analog era of the 1970s. It was originally edited as a live album, but was ultimately shelved, and the point is that it is a completely different sound source from the official remaster that came later. In addition, Disc 2 includes the original 35mm film footage of the same performance at the Rainbow Theater in November of the same year, remixed in 2024. Although the content has been changed for the video, it is highly regarded among fans as an original mix that is different from the edited live footage currently in circulation. In the second half, the sound source from the Trident Studios acetate record owned by the first manager, Norman Sheffield, is also included. Although this is only five songs, it is interesting as a unique sound source with different mixes and sound textures as well as different editing between songs, and some parts that can only be heard here. In addition, three stereo soundboard sounds from the first day from the Trident reel master, which is different from the acetate record, and a sound source of the performance interrupted at “Liar” the next day are also included. Above, from the first fully restored live performance with the latest AI remix to the precious original sound source at that time, this is a special live collection of various early soundboard sounds, limited to 100 sets.
