Description

Valuable stereo soundboard recording of “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”. The highest quality edition is now available. This work includes “January 23, 1977 Cleveland Performance”. Speaking of 1977, it was a time when two world tours “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” and “NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR” intersected. First, let’s check the show’s position from the overall picture. ●1977 “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”・January 13th – March 18th: North America #1 (40 performances) ←★Coco★・May 8th – June 7th: Europe #1 (19 performances) )《“NEWS OF THE WORLD” released on October 28th》“NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”・November 11th – December 22nd: North America #2 (26 performances) ●1978・April 12th – May 13th: Europe #2 (20 performances) This is a panoramic view of the two tours. QUEEN released “Brilliant Lace” at the end of 1976, and began touring in the new year. The Cleveland performance of this work was the 9th concert of “North America #1” at the beginning. This show has traditionally been known as one of the few soundboard recordings of “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”. However, its quality is currently only mediocre, and it is far from a substitute for the official version. When praising audience recording, it is sometimes expressed as “much better than a bad soundboard,” but it was a recording that was like a sample of that bad soundboard. This work is also such a Cleveland SBD, but it is the highest master among them. It was released by core enthusiast LUCIFER BURNS, who has discovered many shocking masters overseas, and he declared that “this is the Definitive Version.” Actually, there is no lie in those words. This work still cannot be called an “official replacement”, and the lack of “In The Lap Of The Gods…Revisited”, “Now I’m Here”, and “God Save The Queen” is no different from before. However, it is fresher than any version that has been exchanged on the internet/trade, and has less distortion. No good quality audience recording has been found from this show, and this work is the best record. And the real thrill of being a sound board is tremendous. There was no sense of distance, and the intensely turned-on core was being poured directly into his brain. There was almost no presence of the audience other than between songs, and it felt as if you were witnessing a real rehearsal rather than a concert. In fact, it is also a show where Freddie’s condition gradually declines as the second half progresses, but even such subtle changes can be clearly seen. You can synchronize the performances of four people with zero distance, and you can enjoy plenty of catharsis only on the sound board. It is special because “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” is drawn with that quality. There are no songs that can only be heard here because there are masterpiece soundboards left on previous and subsequent tours. For example, if you combine the masterpieces “DEFINITIVE HYDE PARK 1976” and “ULTIMATE HOUSTON 1977” at our store, you can listen to any song with a soundboard take. However, the flow of the show is “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”. “A Day At The Races Overture” is led by “Tie Your Mother Down,” not “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “We Will Rock You,” and songs like “Somebody To Love,” “The Millionaire Waltz,” and “White Man.” The new songs in “Brilliant Lace” are also really fresh. The guitar solo of “White Man” spins around with a vivid stereo effect, and in the following “The Prophet’s Song”, the effects that color Freddie’s singing voice dance vividly. This real pleasure cannot be experienced by the audience. It does not reach the level that represents the tour, and it is also an incomplete recording. Still, there is plenty of synchronization that can only be achieved with a soundboard and a stereo feeling that will stir your brain. This is a live album that allows you to enjoy the wonderful world of “A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR” with that feeling. The highest peak master of sound board recording, which is also valuable to core enthusiasts. Live at Richfield Coliseum, Cleveland, OH, USA 23rd January 1977 STEREO SBD Disc 1(45:47) 1.
