Description
The 1979 Cambodian Refugee Relief Concert is known as the greatest performance in QUEEN history. Introducing a super upgraded soundboard that allows you to experience the legendary stage to the fullest. This is amazing! What is engraved in this work is, of course, the “December 26, 1979 Hammersmith Odeon performance”. This is the highest peak updated live album. This show shines brilliantly in QUEEN history in two ways. One is that a TV broadcast pro shot was left behind. The other is as a highlight performance of the climax tour “CRAZY Tour”. In order to explain the situation around there, let’s first look back at the schedule at that time (please skip if you already know). 1978 “JAZZ Tour” ・October 28th-December 20th: North America (35 shows) 1979 ・January 17th-March 1st: Europe (28 shows) ・April 13th-May 6th: Japan (15 shows) {June: Production of “THE GAME” begins} {June 22nd: “LIVE KILLERS” released} ・August 18th: Appearance at SAARBRUCKEN OPEN AIR {October 5th: Single “Crazy Little Thing…” released} “CRAZY Tour” ・November 22nd-December 26th: UK (20 shows) ←★Here★This is their journey after “JAZZ”. The “JAZZ Tour” ended in Japan in May 1979, but in fact they never had a single show in their home country of the UK. To fill that gap, they held a special tour to coincide with the release of the single “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”. Titled the “CRAZY Tour”, they toured only their home country. And this mini-tour was a miracle. QUEEN is known as a band that has a lot of ups and downs, but this time was an exception. All the performances that remain on record are in good condition with “excellent”. Even at the show where only notes remain, excited fans’ words erupt and it is said that “all performances were a big hit”. There are other amazing tours such as Europe in 1982, but the “CRAZY Tour” is a tour that has even hit the threat of a “0% miss rate”. Even in such a miraculous tour, the highlight was the Cambodian refugee relief concert… that is, the Hammersmith performance of this work. And this work is a soundboard album that conveys such a historic concert. It is a complete live album that overseas core maniacs have put together using all kinds of materials. Let’s take a look at the materials here. Soundboard recordings: A: TV broadcast soundboard audio; B: leaked pro shot soundboard audio; C: leaked rough mix/outtake; D: streaming audio for the best album “ABSOLUTE GREATEST”; Audience recordings; E: four types of superb recordings by the prestigious Kinney. “A” and “B” are famous classics (you can also enjoy them on our “HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979: THE VIDEO”), and “E” is the famous album “HAMMERSMITH ODEON 1979 LEGENDARY MASTER TAPES”. “C” is a temporary mix soundboard sound source that was unearthed as a memorial. And “D” was released at the time of the release of the official best album “ABSOLUTE GREATEST”. It was a distribution video that was only accessible to those who purchased the “LP version” or “Deluxe version with book” of “ABSOLUTE GREATEST”. This work is a full live album made up of these four sound sources, but it is not just a patchwork. It is a work of art completed with extraordinary precision and attention to detail. To get a sense of it, let’s take a look at the breakdown of the sound sources used. Single soundboard songs: TV broadcast version: Let Me Entertain You / Killer Queen / Save Me / Sheer Heart Attack / We Will Rock You / We Are The Champions / Leaked versions: Death On Two Legs / Love Of My Life / ’39 / Tie Your Mother Down / God Save The Queen / ABSOLUTE GREATEST version: I’m In Love With My Car / Rough MIX: Now I’m Here / Crazy Little Thing Called Love Matrix songs between soundboards: TV broadcast version & leaked version: We Will Rock You (Fast) / Somebody To Love / You’re My Best Friend / TV broadcast version & rough MIX: Don’t Stop Me Now Kinney recording songs: Kinney recording alone: Introduction / If You Can’t Beat Them / Mustapha / Spread Your Wings / Keep Yourself Alive – each solo Brighton Rock / Kinney & leaked version: Jailhouse Rock / Get Down, Make Love / Kinney & rough MIX: Bohemian Rhapsody… How about this complexity? As noted in the tracklist below, multiple sound sources are used within one song, and you can understand that it is a complicated finish. And the real awesomeness is that this is a natural listening level. Normally, even if the sound board of the same show has a different source, it feels strange, but in this work, the songs flow one after another without noticing the seam. In addition, even Kinney’s audience recording is beautifully connected. It is originally of super high quality, but it is not just used to complement the missing songs, but also as a matrix to add lively sounds and cheers to the sound board directly connected to the table. In fact, the maniac who produced this sound source has challenged the same style many times. Each time a sound source is unearthed, the degree of completion is improved and the quality is also improved. That is why he is familiar with the details of the show and the characteristics of the sound source. By unearthing the rough MIX and Kinney’s full recording, we have finally reached a complete version that is worthy of public release. The “miracle concert sound board album” that every maniac dreams of. This work is a permanent preservation of the crystallization of that dream. If you have been following the history of sound sources, you will be impressed by the precision of the maniacs who produced it, but what is more important than that is that it is “QUEEN’s greatest masterpiece live album” when you listen to it without any hesitation. A dream masterpiece created by numerous excavations and the obsession of maniacs. Stereo soundboard recording of the legendary super performance “December 26, 1979 Hammersmith Odeon performance”. A complete live album made by utilizing various soundboards such as pro shots, leaked sound sources, and official distribution, and even the super famous recording of the prestigious Kinney. The editing precision by overseas maniacs is on an extraordinary level, and even within one song, multiple sound sources are matrixed, and the connection is seamless and very natural. It is a full live album of the dream that makes the “miracle concert soundboard album” that everyone dreams of a reality.
