Description
Three years ago, the whole world experienced the “JAZZ Tour Kobe” for the first time. The shocking new excavation album “KOBE 1979” has been upgraded to a full version. A 2CD set has been born that also preserves the encore part that no one has ever heard! [The “third recording” has been newly excavated from the JAZZ Tour Kobe] Of course, this work contains the “April 27, 1979: Kobe Central Gymnasium” performance. This is the audience recording. Speaking of the “JAZZ Tour”, it was the peak of Queen’s popularity, boasting the most performances in the history of her visit to Japan, and we have archived many masterpieces in our shop. First of all, let’s organize the collection and check the show’s position.・April 13th “BUDOKAN 1979 1ST NIGHT”・April 14th “BUDOKAN 1979 2ND NIGHT”・April 19th + 20th “DEFINITIVE OSAKA 1979″・April 21st “KANAZAWA 1979″・April 23rd “PRIDE AND JOY (Budokan)”・April 24th: Nippon Budokan・April 25th “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1979 5TH NIGHT”・April 27th: Kobe Central Gymnasium ←★This work★・April 28th “NAGOYA 1979″・April 30th + May 1st “MEMORIAL GYM (Fukuoka)”・May 2nd “YAMAGUCHI 1979″・May 5th + 6th: Makomanai Ice Arena ※Note: Only representative works on each day. A total of 15 performances. It is still not complete, but you can see that it has been clarified quite a bit. Among them, the Kobe performance was unearthed in 2019, the 30th anniversary of the show. The live album “KOBE 1979 (Wardour-327)” was released, making full use of two types of first-time audience recordings, and it became a big topic that the Kobe performance that no one had heard until then could be experienced in real life. However, even if the two types were used, unfortunately the encore was not recorded. It was not a complete experience. Three years later, in 2022, the third “Recorder 3” was newly excavated from the Kobe performance. This is a recording that was not listed on any collector site and was completely unknown to even exist. And the encore, which was a phantom, was also recorded there! This work is the “full album of Kobe” that was finally realized by the excavation of “Recorder 3”. [The first ever full live album using three types of records] This “Recorder 3” was provided by a maniac who was impressed by the previous work “KOBE 1979”, but this itself was not a complete recording. Therefore, this work realizes a full show by making full use of three types of audience recording. Let’s organize the contents here. RECORDER 1 (the foundation of this work) ・ Early part: From the start of the show to “Get Down, Make Love” ・ Late part: From “Dreamers Ball” to the last song of the main set “Tie Your Mother Down” RECORDER 2 ・ Mid part: 4 songs on DISC 1 “You’re My Best Friend”, “Now I’m Here”, “Teo Torriatte”, “Don’t Stop Me Now RECORDER 3 ・ End part: From waiting for the encore on DISC 2 to the end of the show … and so on. The main is “Recorder 1”, which is the longest and has the best sound of the three. This was the main feature of the previous work, and although it is mono, it is a wonderful recording with a clear air and a core full of direct feeling. It is a mono recording, and distortion is felt at the beginning of the performance, and I think “Well, I’m grateful that I can hear it …”, but when “We Will Rock You” starts to flow, my resignation changes to joy. The sound clears up quickly and the clarity improves dramatically. Moreover, the performance sound is solid! Of course, it is not the type that can be mistaken for a sound board, but it is a vintage audience to the last, but still, the core without a sense of distance approaches in front of me with clear details. Even so, there is still sound fluctuation, but it improves as the show progresses, and by the time the third song “Somebody To Love” starts, it is almost unnoticeable. This work is the first in history to be in a complete form, but it is a wonderful sound that even forgets that. And the other two types complement the recording omission, “Recorder 2” uses four songs in the middle of the show, and “Recorder 3” uses four encore songs. The full experience of this completed work is tremendous. Freddie’s words after “We Will Rock You” are, “Good evening. How is it going? We’re happy to be back in Kobe.” The clear and vivid Japanese pronunciation of “Kobe” makes the weight of the recording heavy. After “Let Me Entertain You,” Brian says, “How are you? It’s been a while. Five years, five years, OK.” This “five years” probably refers to their first visit to Japan, Kobe. It was actually four years ago, but the pronunciation of “yone” and “gonen” was subtle, so it became “onen.” The sound clearly conveys even such subtle pronunciation. Then, at the end of the encore, the emotions that can only be felt in the complete version explode. After Freddie’s “Goodbye!”, which has been familiar to us until now, “Recorder 3” starts and it’s like, wow! The scene where the flute calls the band with the kana pronunciation of “Encore! Encore!” is full of historical mood, like an NHK documentary program. And the four of them returned and played “Sheer Heart Attack” with great force… Not only was it a live performance that I had never heard before, but the long-awaited encore appearance synchronized with the psychology of the audience on site, making it very exciting. This work closes with “God Save The Queen”, led by Freddie’s “Good Night! Kobe Sayonara” amid thunderous applause. This time, this time, they will run through the full show until the end. A full live album with all kinds of emotions. Audience recording of the performance at “Kobe Central Gymnasium on April 27, 1979”. Previously, it was only up to the last song of the main set, “Tie Your Mother Down”, but the encore part is also complemented by the newly excavated “Recorder 3”. You can now enjoy the whole view of the show. The full set of “JAZZ Tour” is great, but the MC comments that appear here and there, such as “Good evening. How is it?”, “We’re happy to be in Kobe again”, “It’s been a while. Five years, five years”, and “Kobe! Goodbye”, also make this a historically spectacular cultural heritage album.
