Description

The scorching soundboard album that reaches the peak of their heyday has been reprinted. The peak is the “Buenos Aires performance on February 28, 1981”. The best master album “BUENOS AIRES 1981 DEFINITIVE EDITION” containing the radio broadcast sound source is now back with a new jacket. In any case, this Buenos Aires performance was a “mass of success”. At that time, QUEEN’s album “THE GAME” and the singles “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “Another One Bites the Dust” were huge hits. They swept the charts in various countries and both won No. 1 in the US. The world tour that was launched with that tailwind was also a great success. While the whole world was turning to QUEEN, it was South America that was particularly hotly watched. QUEEN, who had never visited South America before, realized their first tour and achieved a huge success of mobilizing 500,000 people (!) in seven performances. Moreover, the peak of that was the Buenos Aires performance. With only three performances, 300,000 people (!!) were gathered, making it the “biggest concert in the history of Argentina”. The show included in this work is the first night. It is the “first show” which is the kickoff performance of the entire South American tour. [The highest version of the soundboard album in history] This concert was also broadcast on local radio songs, and the standard soundboard has been known since then. Several upgrades have been made in the long history, but this work is the pinnacle. Its quality is exactly the “top”. All songs except “Get Down, Make Love” and “God Save The Queen” that were not broadcast are covered, and the reprise of “Now I’m Here”, which could not be held down by many previous releases, also appears for the first time. If such a large scale is wonderful, the sound itself is the best ever. It uses a master of a much younger generation than the existing group, and the clarity, fine details, natural sound, and even the grain of the sound are completely different. The freshness further accentuates the vividness of the soundboard. Although it is not “official class” because it is a South American broadcast in the early 1980s, on the contrary, its rough “direct table connection feeling” is amazing. While the huge cheers can be heard faintly in the distance, the panning stereo feeling is super vivid (the guitar solo after “Keep Yourself Alive” is amazing!). There are many line recordings in the history of QUEEN, but I don’t remember a record where John’s bass approaches so much with a rough and tactile feeling. Of course, since it is such a revolutionary master, it is finished with perfect mastering including accurate pitch. In fact, when reprinting the previous release “BUENOS AIRES 1981 DEFINITIVE EDITION”, I tried to remaster it, but the conclusion was “No matter how much I tweak it, it won’t be any better than this”. We decided to reprint the ultimate board as it is. [The best show loved by the goddess] The “top” show is drawn with that “top” sound. We briefly introduced the background of the Buenos Aires performance earlier, but not only that, QUEEN herself also had all the conditions perfectly. To explain it, let’s take a look at the outline of “THE GAME TOUR” here. ● 1980 June 30th – July 14th: North America #1 (14 performances) ・ August 5th – September 30th: North America #2 (35 performances) ・ November 23rd – December 18th: Europe (17 performances) ● 1981 February 12th – 19th: Japan (6 performances) ・ February 28th – March 21st: Latin America #1 (7 performances) ← ★ Here ★ ・ September 25th – October 18th: Latin America #2 (6 performances) ・ November 24th + 25th: North America #3 (2 performances) This is the whole picture of the hugely successful world tour. In 1980, they toured North America and Europe, which were their main battlefields, and then they were scheduled to head to Japan and Central and South America after fully recharging their batteries over the New Year holidays. In other words, they were soaked in the winds of great success in 1980, they had plenty of rest, and the band’s engine was warmed up and running at full speed after six performances in Japan. “Now, it’s time to head to the new world where a record-breaking crowd is waiting!”… This work is the first night of their first meeting. In fact, the show packed into this work is a super-passionate performance with an aura seeping out of the pores. All four of them are in high spirits, but Freddie is the easiest to understand. Anyway, they were in top form, and from the very beginning they started out saying “Ola-lai, Ardentina! Get Down! Boravien!”, their voices stretched out comfortably, and the tension of the pan was also the best. Even after singing “Play The Game”, they were moved by the chorus of “Esterco, Tent! Ola-lai!!” and “Love Of My Life”, and then “Fantastico!”. Even Brian is chanting “You’re the best!” It’s a shame that the huge crowd’s response is so far away because it’s a direct-connected sound board, but on the other hand, Freddie’s breathing, which is exhaled as his spirit, is directly poured into his brain, giving a vivid feeling. This tone continues throughout the show. The singing voice is in top form even in “Mustapha” and “Rock It”, which cannot be heard in the official “QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL”, and the piano with plenty of groove rolls in “Death On Two Legs”, and the kimono is also decided. Although Brian misses the note at the beginning of “Need Your Loving Tonight”, he forcibly changes it into a masterpiece with an excellent solo. The best part is “Save Me”. It fits well from start to finish, and it is a take that is highly praised by maniacs as the “best live version”. South America, which loves QUEEN so enthusiastically that it is said to be “on par with Japan”. And QUEEN, who had a worldwide hit, was fully charged and in good shape in Japan, where they both loved each other. This is the historic definitive edition that contains the “Night of the Top” on the highest peak sound board, where the two met for the first time.
