Description

“THE RHAPSODY TOUR” performance in Japan attracted attention from all over Japan. The collection of his masterpieces has finally been completed. The final piece, the finest original recording, will be preserved forever. What is engraved in this work is the “January 30, 2020: Nagoya Dome” performance. This is the best audience recording. Following the CDs “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 1ST NIGHT” and “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 2ND NIGHT,” this week, the second half of the tour, the “Western Japan Edition,” will also be permanently preserved. A total of 4 performances were held. First, let’s organize the ultimate collection by date.・January 25th “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 1ST NIGHT” ・January 26th “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 2ND NIGHT” ・January 28th “OSAKA 2020” ・January 30th: Nagoya Dome ←★This work *Note: Each Hitomo’s representative album only. [Great upgraded sound that even the position has changed] This is the Four Heavenly Kings of the 2020 Japan Tour. This work is a live album on the last day. This work is a meticulous mastering of the original master of “NAGOYA DOME 2020”, which was a breaking news release. Reflecting the unprecedented popularity of this tour, a number of famous recordings appeared and were provided immediately after the show ended. We have released the best of them as a breaking news, but for Nagoya, a master that exceeds the breaking recording did not appear after that. Of course it’s not the same…or should I say, it’s a major upgrade board that has been reborn to a “completely different” level. The transformation sounds different even to the recording position. To tell you the truth, this recording was made from a stand seat that looked directly at the stage. The original sound of the previously released version was a clear recording that penetrated through an unobstructed space, but in this work, the density of the core has increased significantly, making it even more on and powerful. If the previously released version has a sound that realistically feels like a stand seat, this work sounds balanced as if it was recorded from the air at the venue by flying a drone. The reason why it was possible to brush up so much is because there was room for growth in the original sound. Remastering any recording does not necessarily make it better, and depending on the individuality of the recording, there is no way to change it, and it is not uncommon for the more you mess with it, the more unnatural it becomes. However, this recording had a beautiful sound and the core could be adjusted individually, so we were able to significantly reduce the distance while preserving the natural texture and beauty of the original sound. It is a major upgrade that was made possible because the original was a famous recording. It was completely based on “NAGOYA DOME 2020”, but for those who are not aware of the already released version, this recording was made by a master who is accustomed to gigantic venues. He has worked on numerous masterpieces, and has recently become well-known for his latest recordings by Huey Lewis, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and more. In particular, Celine Dion and Taylor Swift/Charli XCX were captured with great sound despite being in the Tokyo Dome, and received great acclaim, with people saying, “Is it really a dome?” What is especially wonderful is the extension of the treble. Adam’s high notes stretch out comfortably, and the width and fluctuation of his fine vibrato are clear. On top of that, a resounding spectacle is added, making it even majestic. Of course the singing is great, but what’s even more amazing is the soft singing like in the first half of “Killer Queen”. You can clearly see not only the richness of his voice and the subtleties of his voice, which can change like an actor’s, but also the way he dominates the venue. It is a live album that has refined the original sound that depicts the world of beauty that can only be achieved by an exquisite audience recording, and even has the direct feel of a soundboard. [Full show in Nagoya filled with enthusiasm for the first time in 15 years] The last day of the Japan tour, which had the whole country excited, is depicted with such a reborn sound. As mentioned in the explanations of other works, this performance in Japan is almost the same as the 4 performances in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Therefore, let’s organize the set based on past Nagoya performances. Songs we played last time in Nagoya (QUEEN + Paul in 2005) Hammer to Fall / I’m in Love With My Car / I Want It All / Love of My Life / ’39 / Crazy Little Thing Called Love / I Want to Break Free/Tie Your Mother Down/The Show Must Go On/Radio Ga Ga/Bohemian Rhapsody/We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions・Japan limited song: Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)/I Was Born to Love You First song in Nagoya since QUEEN・Since 1985: Now I’m Here/Seven Seas of Rhye/Keep Yourself Alive/Killer Queen/Somebody to Love/Another One Bites the Dust/Under Pressure/Dragon Attack・Since 1979: Don’t Stop Me Now/Bicycle Race・Since 1976: In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited/Doing All Right First performed in Nagoya・Who Wants to Live Forever…and so on. This is QUEEN + Adam’s first performance in Nagoya, and the last time was QUEEN + Paul Rodgers. In 1998, Brian had a solo performance, but most of the songs played there were also featured on QUEEN + Paul. Before that, it goes back to the last “THE WORKS TOUR” before Freddie was alive. Looking at each song, “Who Wants to Live Forever”, which was not played during Paul’s era, was premiered in Nagoya. And, this work is also wonderful in Nagoya’s enthusiasm for the first time in 15 years since Paul’s era. Since it was recorded from a stand, you can feel the enthusiasm of the arena as if the performance was blazing from below, which heated up the stage even more. Every time Adam struts around the stage, ripples travel to the right and left, and when he steps out onto the flower path, the waves come and go. The excitement also spread to the stands, with large applause from up close and small applause from far away, giving a three-dimensional feel to the Nagoya Dome space. This performance in Japan was filled with great success, as if the heyday had been revived. This is a live album where you can fully enjoy that glorious final day with the best sound. This work itself is a musical masterpiece filled with good sounds, good songs, and good performances, and is also the final part of the permanent collection. One that is unavoidable no matter how you look at it. Live at Nagoya Dome, Nagoya, Japan 30th January 2020 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters)*Remastered Version Disc 1 (64:56) 1. Intro 2.
