Description

In 1995, he was in the midst of a cold war with the record company he belonged to after abandoning the name Prince. It was also the second peak of his energetic composing career, and on the other hand, Prince celebrated his second birthday after changing his name and gave a fulfilling performance at Glam Slam Miami. This time, we will focus on the period from his birthday in 1995 to just before he came to Japan in 1996, and although all of them are audience recordings, we will record in almost chronological order the live performances at Paisley Park, where it was considered impossible to infiltrate and record at all. We will release a total of three 6CD titles. The name is Lost Open Sessions. We cover the released Open Sessions and sound sources not included in them. The second Lost Open Sessions was held at Paisley Park on August 5, 1995. Days Of Wild’s solid funk groove is 9 minutes long, Lettitgo starts singing phrases from TLC’s Waterfalls, and over 7 minutes of intense funk Now and Prince. It’s a great 60-minute live show with The Cross, who is thrilled to have played songs from the era. August 12th started with an explosive and aggressive version of Return Of The Bump Squad, Count The Days featured Tora Tora’s voice, The Good Life included Big City Remix, a funky version unique to live performances, and rare songs. Performing Cherry Cherry’s play and NPG’s Exodus number in succession! The first half concludes with Get Wild, and then comes the Purple Medley, a medley of Prince’s hits that will have everyone going crazy! This was actually the first performance, but Prince was narrating and singing, but instead of playing it, he was playing a video. Still, this type of performance is rare, and since it was the first time it was shown to the public, the audience was very moved. Inspired by that, he finished with the high-temperature Santana Medley and the bluesy The Ride. On August 27th, we started off with a quiet Prince era number, Sometimes It Snows In April, on guitar. It’s an unusual version with a funky phrase in the middle of the intro, which is interesting. Then there’s A Case Of U’s wonderful solo performance on the guitar, and the process that flows into Peach’s band sound is thrilling. From the intro with Arabic and funky cutting to 7, this is a performance of the masterpiece Dolphin with a beautiful and majestic backing and a complete band sound! With Prince’s serious but slightly lazy vocals and crackling guitar, this version may be considered the best. And Zannalee’s pop-rock performance from Chaos and Disorder. One after another, you can enjoy Michael B’s drums on Bambi, and then there’s a melancholy performance of Steve Vai’s Tender Lover! From a beautiful development to Santana Medley, we suddenly changed the place where it looked like it was going to snowball and switched to The Ride! There’s no doubt that all of this is due to Prince changing the set list under various instructions. And in a sense, Mary Don’t You Weep is a rocker version that is cooler than Piano and Microphone 1983, and the irregular Race that includes a rockish guitar is also wonderful! It’s a mash-up with Girls & Boys, and it connects with rare funk’s Super Hero right away, and Prince adds a scat-like vocal to it, and it’s a great hit. The 8-minute ballad Dark was a complete turnaround, and Prince expressed his gratitude to the choir and the audience, as they performed in unison with the audience. The medley of Eye Hate U and 319 will remind you of the performance in Japan. Then, from the cry of “Prince is Dead” to Gold, the rare song Mad was played! Then, Days Of Wild is sung slowly, leading to a slightly looser version of Days Of Wild. The way he sings is also slow. You’ll be surprised if you’ve never heard anything like this before. And finally, this cover is here! Sly’s famous funk In Time! All I can do is listen to it and be moved by it! That’s how cool it is! It also includes live performances by T.C. Jammers, a funk band by Tommy Barbarella, St. Paul from The Family, and Prince’s older brother Ricky Peterson, who was very close to Prince around this time. Original songs are played, as well as songs from their albums since the Hornheads are there, as well as songs by The Family. In particular, on Mutiny, Prince also sings phrases from the unreleased song Feline. This also provides evidence that Feline was provided to The Family. It’s valuable in that sense, and the last song is St. Paul’s song Rich Man, which is a cool song, and the live performance itself is very funky and wonderful. On September 9th, Shy’s live version from Gold Experience, which was rarely played, will be available for the first time. It’s cool, funky, and a little melancholy, and is a great live version. Very valuable as it has only been played once. And Curtis’s cover People Get Ready is still short, but you can enjoy Prince’s melancholy vocals. The Jam from there, this is also played on the Ultimate Experience tour, but the next Dankura cover of Rufus’ You Got The Love will be in the rare category. Sharp guitar improvisational instruments are also played, giving it an after-show atmosphere. And then there’s another rare performance, a cover of the Ohio Players’ Heaven Must Be Like This, featuring saxophonist Walter Chancellor Jr., and Prince also plays Sugarfoot’s Ao! They are encouraging people by chanting. And when played, the song Hide The Bone will definitely make you dance, and the funky agemood performance like the Crystal Ball recording, Walter’s saxophone will appear many times here to liven up the atmosphere. Just to say thank you, it’s a wonderful 7 minute long track that returns with new grooves and effects. This can also be said to be the best version of the song. PFunk’s Funky Design has a futuristic saxophone feature and structure, with a funk smell even though it sounds like EDM. You can also experience a trip that feels like it will last forever. From the grooving Santana Medley, to the 10-minute compilation of The Undertaker, which seems to have collected all the phrasing of this song, to the beautiful and majestic keyboard intro by Prince to the magnificent keyboard-based version of Sometimes It Snows In April. . This is truly a masterpiece, and even though it is choral, the backing is wonderful and it is a rare version that is like a treasure trove of beauty. Paisley Park on September 16th opens with the funk-rock and spacey Zannalee, followed by The Ride with its wah-wah guitar, and Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Child, which will be covered by Prince for the first time. Of course, it has been played several times since then, but the enveloping keyboard and serious guitar playing here is a masterpiece that you should listen to at least once. There, I immersed myself in the rock world with the Stones’ Honky Tonk Woman, and then the rock’n’roll of Little Richard’s The Girl Can’t Help It, which was only confirmed twice during this period, and the melancholy Que Sera, Sera. It is a series of highlights, such as The Jam, where Prince asks if he is ready for a jam, and I Believe In You’s homage play to Larry, who he has not met yet. It starts with a cool funk instrumental, Johnny, Skin Tight by the Ohio Players, and closes sweetly with the unexpected Sweet Thing.
