Description

Graffiti Bridge is an album that brought together bands and artists connected to Prince, such as The Time, Mavis Staples, and George Clinton, to play Prince’s songs. A movie was also made of it, but in fact, this album was not originally planned like that. It was first produced as a single on September 25, 1988, and then a rough mix of Graffiti Bridge by Prince, without any input from other artists, was made (included in 30 Years Of Unreleased Funk Volume 3). DJ Foefur polished the sound source and adjusted the intervals between songs, resulting in a great sound of official quality, and a level that can be listened to as a great unreleased version of the album. The first track, Can’t Stop This Feeling I Got, has a different version, with solid sound separation and sound effects that seem to pop out, creating a kaleidoscope-like sound. The very clear demo New Power Generation is innovative in that it has no chorus in parts and the keyboard sounds that are recessed in the official version are brought to the forefront. You will discover a different charm in Elephants & Flowers, whose lyrics, singing style and sound are different. The version of We Can Funk, which can only be heard here, is also of the highest quality. Then it transitions to Joy In Repetition in an interesting way. Then the rhythmic demo of Tick Tick Bang appears as if it is interrupted, and the funkiness of the Prince version of Melody Cool, where Mavis Staples does not sing, is amazing, and the sound quality is also official class, which is surprising. And the unreleased song, the heavy The Grand Progression, and the demo of Graffiti Bridge before Claire Fisher’s orchestration (you can hear the vocals of Bonnie Boyer and others) are also excellently remastered. And the last is the part 2 of New Power Generation, which is surprisingly simple and interesting. Enjoy Graffiti Bridge, a set of 10 songs, full of Prince-likeness, remastered by DJ Foefur.
