Description

In 2008, Prince rented a mansion at 77 Beverly Park Ln in Beverly Hills from February, where he made albums such as Lotusflow3r, MPLSound, Elixer, and held parties. However, there are no recordings from there, only recordings from Black Eye Day and the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 26th. This is a release of the live performance at the Coachella festival. This title is a matrix recording of the 4Dafunk master and DAT master, probably the first recording to be released. It is an audience recording with both realism and stability. The first song is “The Bird” with a long and pompous intro! When Prince shouted “Coolest place on earth” to the Coachella audience and called the horns, the Prince band played a fireball performance that was completely different from the live arrangement at The Time, which mainly featured cheap keyboards! You will feel the funkiness several times more than usual! It’s not just the horns that are tight! Prince’s guitar is just free and flowing! And it’s Maurice Day who sings! He calls Prince and encourages him to play guitar in “Jungle Love”, so this is the first time we’ve ever heard this! The groovy bass playing of “Jungle Love”, and Prince’s rhythm work that coolly matches the cutting to it, the performance is just something you don’t want to end! Really the best “The Bird” and “Jungle Love” ever! Then suddenly Sheila E. appears singing “La la la la”! On to “The Glamorous Life”! Here, the funky ensemble of bass and guitar from “Jungle Love” is left, so this arrangement sounds very fresh! And Prince’s crunchy guitar cutting that continues all the time, and “Santana Medley” that is played dashingly while playing it like an intro! It’s an excellent version where the perverted keyboard phrases of the brilliance and Prince’s rockish guitar work are exquisitely intertwined! Cora’s drum solo and Renato’s piano are also great! A hyper “Santana Medley” by the new NPG! Of course, Sheila’s usual drumming is also featured! And “1999” is played with the shout of Coachella! And I don’t want you to judge it just by looking at the title, but the very happy performance of “Little Red Corvette” is! It’s been a long time since the band played together! It’s pretty faithful to the studio recording, and Prince’s guitar solo is also almost the same as the studio take, but he breaks it down a little and puts in a lot of fun phrases, so the result is the best “Little Red Corvette” ever, over 7 minutes long! And the highlight performance is an unexpected cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”! It will be performed only once! It’s the best performance without flattery! The backing is quite faithful to the original song, but Prince’s singing style is very unconventional. The A-melody is close to the original, but the guitar sound before the chorus is explosive, and the chorus that follows is a storm of shouts. The high-pitched roar of “Do Me Baby” seems to pierce your ears, and the guitar solo is also played as usual, making it a super rock version that continues in ecstasy for 9 minutes! ! The best appeal at a festival where you can experience various music! ! And the cover of Sarah McLachlan’s “The Arm Of An Angel” sung by Ledisi, who was selected as a backing chorus at this time, is also beautiful. Shelby and the others also sing in the background with a lot of atmosphere, and Renato’s piano livens up the urban sound, perfect for a summer night! ! And the encore is “Purple Rain” and “Let’s Go Crazy”! Prince’s best songs are definitely something you want to hear at a festival! ! The audience was also very excited! ! This is a live performance from 2008, different from London 21 Nights, and unique to the festival! ! And the bonus is the original reunion of Morris Day’s band The Time! ! Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson… and Rihanna, who swept 2007, recorded on a soundboard! And Prince’s new song Turn Me Loose, performed for the first time on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show! A cool and funky sound with a hint of young James Brown, Little Richard, Otis Redding, and the 60s! And naughty lyrics! PFunk keyboards! A powerful tune explosion! ! This is also on a high-quality soundboard! And even the studio version of Turn Me Loose is included!
