Description

PRETTY MAIDS in 1995 came to Japan for the second time in three years with their masterpiece “SCREAM”. The original DAT master vacuum-packed from the scene is here. This work is recorded from the “March 2, 1995: Nagoya Bottom Line” performance. This is a powerful original recording. First, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the show’s position. March 1: Osaka Warhol March 2: Nagoya Bottom Line ←★Here★ March 3: Club Citta Kawasaki March 5: Club Citta Kawasaki These were the four performances that compactly toured Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. This work, recorded at such a valuable site, is a powerful audience with a sense of closed room. The opening scene is frightened by the distorted cheers, but that is only a story about cheers. “Psycho-Time-Bomb-Planet-Earth”, which is led by a delicate SE, is a powerful yet vivid performance sound that jumps into your ears without a sense of distance. Moreover, this loud cheer is a bit strange. When it gets heavy, it distorts and cracks, but the volume itself is not large. If you prepare yourself for it to hurt your ears, it doesn’t happen at all, and it is drowned out by the powerful performance sound and vocals. And the direct feeling of the performance sound is a closed room feeling. The sound board is not mistaken for a sound board in terms of tone, but there is almost no echo, and the rushing force and the straight ball that jumps in without time lag are also bare. Of course, the fineness of the details that arrive with it is also tremendous. There, the aforementioned mysterious scorching cheers stir up the tension no matter what. The full show is penetrated with a close feeling that “PRETTY MAIDS is right in front of you”. Such a close-up sound depicts the precious and hot Japanese performance scene. Speaking of 1995, the official live album “SCREAMIN’ LIVE” is also left, but this work is similar but not the same. Let’s organize the set while comparing it here. Classics Red, Hot and Heavy: Back to Back/Red, Hot and Heavy Future World: Yellow Rain/Love Games/Future World Jump the Gun: Lethal Heroes (★)/Rock the House/Savage Heart (four-person set) Sin-Decade: Sin-Decade/Please Don’t Leave Me Scream: Psycho-Time-Bomb-Planet-Earth/Rise/Walk Away/Scream Others Medley (★): Running Out/Battle Of Pride/Raise Your Flag/Loud ‘N’ Proud/City Light Covers: Lazy (★)/Rosalie (★) Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on the official live album “SCREAMIN’ LIVE”. …And so it goes. The official album was unsatisfying, perhaps because it was limited to one CD, but this album has a consistent full audience from start to finish. The intervals between songs and the drum solos progress in real time, and the delicious repertoire has been increased. I’m happy with just the masterpiece “Lethal Heroes”, but it also includes medleys and cover songs that pack five songs into 13 minutes, which may not have been enough. Of course, “Rosalie” is a cover of Bob Seger’s…or rather, THIN LIZZY, and it also includes “Please Don’t Leave Me” and the killer “Back to Back”. It’s a secret live album with a delicious hot closed room feeling. After this, PRETTY MAIDS continued to visit Japan, but due to the trends of the 1990s, the number of performances and the size of the venues began to shrink. That’s why real fans were concentrated in a small space. The scorching sound that can only be heard by a DAT master who was present at that super hot scene blows out of the speakers. A powerful audience recording of the “March 2, 1995: Nagoya Bottom Line” performance. The sound created directly from the original DAT master is full of closed room feeling. The powerful yet detailed performance sound has no sense of distance, and the rushing force that rushes forward without almost any echo and the straight ball that jumps in without any time lag are barefoot on the sound board. Even hotter are the cheers. Although it is overpeaking a little, the volume is strangely not loud, and only the heat of the groove is transmitted super vividly. This is a full live album with plenty of “Lethal Heroes”, famous song medleys, and cover songs that cannot be heard on the official live work “SCREAMIN’ LIVE”.
