Description

PRAYING MANTIS, the twin harmony magician who created the masterpiece “FOREVER IN TIME”, also known as the best work. This original recording allows you to experience the best of the performance in Japan, which was realized with Tony O’Hora, just like the album. This work is recorded in the “November 11, 1998: Nagoya Bottom Line” performance. This is the best audience recording. PRAYING MANTIS is a band that Japanese fans have loved and supported for many years, along with RIOT. They have visited Japan many times, and the pattern is also left in the official live album. It was 1998 that was the most wonderful year in the history of such visits to Japan, and embodied the “Mantis image” that fans imagine. After all, at that time, they sent out “FOREVER IN TIME”, a masterpiece among masterpieces that stands alongside “A CRY FOR THE NEW WORLD”, and played a lot of its masterpieces. Moreover, during the “A CRY FOR THE NEW WORLD” era, Colin Peel left the band before coming to Japan, but in 1998 Tony O’Hora accompanied them as in the album. The beautiful world of “FOREVER IN TIME” was reproduced on stage. However, despite the fact that it was such a decisive visit to Japan, it was not made into an official work. Although it was understandable because the official live works “LIVE AT LAST” and “CAPTURED ALIVE IN TOKYO CITY” were continued, it was a very regrettable fate that Mantis’s true potential was not left. This work is a superb full live album that will clear up such dryness and regret! The meter rose involuntarily. Let’s cool our heads and start from the basics. First of all, let’s look back at the show’s position from the schedule at that time.・November 9th: Sendai MA.CA.NA.HALL・November 10th: Osaka Banana Hall・November 11th: Nagoya Bottom Line ←★Here★・November 12th: Club Citta KawasakiA total of four performances. The Nagoya performance of this work was the third concert. This work recorded at such a show is a superb sound with a very thick and close contact. It is the latest work of the DAT master that has been released in our shop recently, and it is a masterpiece that is outstanding in the series. Anyway, everything is in front of your eyes and ears. The drums are so realistic that you can feel the vibration of the skin, and the twin harmonies and synths are finely tuned and have a great sense of separation that never mixes even when intertwined. And the vocals. O’Hora’s singing voice is at the level of breathing, and the chorus of the Troy brothers is so delicate that you can clearly hear each voice, so the layered feeling of overlapping is even more beautiful. The closed-room feeling that is unique to the club size… or rather, you can experience a sense of synchronization with the band as if you were sitting in the rehearsal room together. If we were to express it for our customers, it would be “like the strongest sound (actually recorded by someone else),” and in general terms, it is a super direct sound that can only be described as “like a leaked sound board.” Such a straight-ball sound depicts the extreme of melancholy hard rock that was revived with O’Hola. Let’s organize the selection of masterpieces here. Forever in Time (7 songs) Wasted Years/The Messiah/Remember My Name/Valley Of The King/Forever In Time/The Day The Sun Turned Cold/Best Years A Cry For The New World (3 songs) A Cry For The New World/Rise Up Again/Letting Go Others (4 songs) 80s: Children Of The Earth/Turn The Tables 90s: Can’t See The Angels/Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark … and so on. The balance is centered around the two greatest masterpieces “FOREVER IN TIME” and “A CRY FOR THE NEW WORLD”, with other killer songs scattered throughout. This is exactly the ideal set that fans want. And the performance that spells out these masterpieces is the best. Unlike the album, the super tight sound makes the performance sound raw, and each sound of the five people who created “FOREVER IN TIME” is very vivid. And the classics revived by O’Hora’s singing voice are also really good. To be honest, the ensemble, which has not performed live much outside of Japan, is not very well-rounded, but it does not make you smile wryly like Gary Barden on “CAPTURED ALIVE”. Although Barden’s singing of “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” is quite harsh, the other repertoire is re-dyed with a Mantis-like worldview. This is a live version of the masterpiece “FOREVER IN TIME”, and it is a live album in which past masterpieces are dyed with O’Hora’s singing voice. This is an extremely valuable original recording that allows you to fully experience the “PRAYING MANTIS-ness” that fans desire with a thick sound. Even so, I wish this 1998 visit to Japan was an official work… Such regret is now revived with a new masterpiece. A superb audience recording of the “Nagoya Bottom Line” performance on November 11, 1998. This is the latest work from DAT Master, who has been releasing a series of masterpieces recently, and is a masterpiece that stands out in the series. Everything is right in front of your eyes and ears. The drums are so realistic that you can feel the vibration of the skin, and the twin harmonies and chorus work are so detailed that they are separate and never mix even when they are intertwined. The live performance of the five people who created “FOREVER IN TIME,” which is said to be the masterpiece, is a sense of synchronization that is screwed into your brain. The classics revived by Tony O’Hora’s singing voice are also delicious new masterpieces.
