Description
The definitive edition of the demo sound source collection of the 1983 album “the final cut” is now available! The sound source itself was once on the market about 15 years ago, and was also released as a collector’s edition at the same time under the titles THE ROUGH CUT and DEMOS FROM THE FINAL CUT, but now it is the definitive and final edition. Appeared as! The previously released titles mentioned above had some problems, such as pitch deviations, gap noise, and cuts in the songs, but we have corrected them as much as possible for this CD, and the pitch has been unstable due to tape distortion. We have corrected the parts as much as possible, and now you can watch the movie without any discomfort. Of course, there are no elementary problems such as gap noise. In the previously released version, there was a gap between the songs of Southampton Dock and The Final Cut, but there is no such problem with this title. There is a cut only at the end of Two Suns In The Sunset, but this is the same as in the previously released titles. Compared to this demo sound source and the released version, some of the tracks are almost complete. These include Your Possible Pasts on track 2, The Hero’s Return (Part 1, 2) on tracks 4 and 6, Paranoid Eyes on track 7, The Fletcher Memorial Home on track 9, and The Final Cut on track 10. There are also references in the literature that the final cut is Wall’s outtake (take that was not recorded), so the almost completed take above may be from Wall’s session. Most of the basic tracks other than those listed above are already completed, but they are essentially demo tracks by Roger using a rhythm machine, piano, and acoustic guitar. Two Suns In The Sunset, which Andy Newmark played in place of Nick because he could not play according to Roger’s instructions, is still a demo based on acoustic guitar and piano. Other than that, the sound effects heard throughout the album are quite different from the released version. Includes related singles as bonus tracks. Tracks 14-16 are from the 12-inch single and are familiar tracks that have been included in various rarities, but there are surprisingly few that have been recorded directly from the master disc. Here, we carefully recorded it from the UK original mint condition edition. Track 16 is the B-side of the 12-inch disc, and the ending of the album version is a faster fade-out version, so it can be called a short edit version. Track 17 is from the Argentine promo disc, and is a short edited version that has not been seen anywhere else, with scissors in the song. This is only recorded from internet sound sources. Tracks 18-19 are from the single released in 1982. At the time of the single release, it was credited as being scheduled to be included in the Wall soundtrack (later the final cut album), but it was not included in the album in the end, but was released in 2004. This track was re-recorded when the final cut was remastered in 2017. Both sides of the single are included here to commemorate the final kut edition. I have not yet confirmed that the B-side of this single has been made directly from the actual CD, so the difference is obvious when compared to various collector’s editions that have already been released. Track 20 is from a radio commercial at the time and is an online source. Stereo Soundboard Recordings The Final Cut Demos 01. The Post War Dream 02. Your Possible Pasts 03. One Of The Few 04.
