Description

PINK FLOYD in 1971, who produced the masterpiece “Meddle” while also conducting an energetic world tour. A new masterpiece that enriches the archive collection has been born. This work is engraved with two valuable sound sources. The best audience recording of the “Roundhouse performance on January 17, 1971” and the soundboard recording of the “Lyon performance on June 12 of the same year”. Both were of the highest quality in 1971, but were not blessed with the “length” aspect, and were not easily preserved permanently. This work is a definitive version of the two recordings, polished by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” from the best master. What kind of show was the two recordings of this work recorded at? 1971 was full of historical events, including not only the production of “Meddle”, but also the first visit to Japan and filming in Pompeii. Let’s check the position in light of the activity overview. “ATOM HEART MOTHER Tour” {January 4th: Production of “Meddle” begins} January 17th – February 27th: Europe #1 (10 performances) ←★Here (first half of this work)★ April 3rd – July 1st: Europe #2 (20 performances) ←★Here (second half of this work)★ August 6th – 15th: First visit to Japan / Australia (5 performances) {September 11th: “Meddle” completed} September 18th – October 3rd: Europe #3 (7 performances) {October 4th – 7th: Filmed in Pompeii} October 10th + 11th: UK (2 performances) “MEDDLE Tour” October 15th – November 20th: North America (27 performances) The best audience recording of the Roundhouse performance (about 34 minutes) This is PINK FLOYD in 1971. The main focus of this work is the best audience recording of the Roundhouse performance, which was recorded on “January 17th”. It was the first day of “Europe #1”, the first show of 1971. A recording of this show was discovered in recent years, and it is an extremely thick and close-fitting sound. It is a mono audience recording, but there is no sense of distance in the sound, and there is no sense of sparseness. This work is also a coupling board with a broadcast sound source (described later), but it is no problem at all even if it is recorded side by side with a sound board. There are several versions of this recording, and another master released by the famous collector “Neonknight” was also a hot topic, but it is short and not very fresh. This work is a carefully selected best master of the longest and highest quality, different from that, and has been permanently preserved after meticulous mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. According to one theory, there is also a full-length version that is over two hours long, but the owner of the original sound source refused to provide it. The longest recording that has been released is about 34 minutes of this work. The soundboard recording of the Lyon performance (about 42 minutes) and the latter half of this work are rare broadcast sound sources for PINK FLOYD. It was recorded at the Lyon performance, which was the 14th performance of “Europe # 2” five months after the Roundhouse performance, and was broadcast by the French AM radio station “Europe 1”. It is a super valuable 70’s broadcast sound source, but it is a great record that you can enjoy “Atom Heart Mother” with brass conducted by John Aldiss. There are several versions of this, but the source of this work is the 2nd Gene Master released by “Neonknight” in 2017. At that time, we also introduced it in our shop as a gift board, but it is the best master at present that has not been surpassed even after seven years. Of course, this work has been meticulously mastered by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. All kinds of processing, such as pitch correction that does not allow even 1/1000th of a second of deviation and various noise processing, have been carefully performed, but the correction of high frequency noise was particularly effective this time. In the original sound released by “Neonknight”, the broadcast noise was harsh, but in this work, it was eliminated at once. It is permanently preserved with the highest peak updated sound that is much easier to listen to. The best master of the extremely thick audience recording unearthed in recent years and the traditional broadcast sound source. This work is a piece that has been meticulously polished and permanently preserved with the highest peak updated quality. A coupling album of the best audience recording of the “Roundhouse performance on January 17, 1971” and the soundboard recording of the “Lyon performance on June 12 of the same year”. The Roundhouse recording is an extremely thick recording unearthed in recent years, and there is no sense of distance or sparseness at all. The Lyon sound source is the best master of the traditional AM sound board, and the highest peak updated version with high frequency noise eliminated by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” mastering. It is a short but excellent record that has been permanently preserved in the best quality. Remastering memo ’71 label’s first coupling! The round house sound source recorded in the first half is the first sound source that appeared in the 2010s, and this board is recorded from an analog item. Although it is just under 34 minutes and only 3 songs are recorded, the sound is close and the sound is very fresh, and it is a super high quality mono Aud recording, so it is guaranteed to be fresh enough that you would not think it is an analog copy if you listen normally. Currently, multiple versions are circulating among traders, and there is also one that seems to be a tape source by the familiar Neonknight, but it is slightly less fresh, and only 2 minutes of Fat Old Sun is recorded (this board is cut but 6 and a half minutes are recorded). By the way, there is an interesting comment in the memo attached to Neon’s version, “I was once indirectly approached about providing a 2-hour version, but it fell through,” which suggests that the full-length version is not currently in circulation. The second half of this album contains a remastered version of the radio broadcast from the Lyon performance on June 12 of the same year (about 42 minutes)! Looking back at the past releases, there have been several titles released, such as “France 1971” (CD) [SS 201042] and “Foreign Legion” (CDR) [HEAD]. “France 1971” cuts the band above 18 kHz, and the high-pitched radio reception noise is noticeable. “Foreign Legion” was a CDR with noticeable end cuts such as the latter half of the AHM. This edition is the latest remaster based on the 2017 version released by the familiar Neonknight! Although the texture is quite rough and noisy, the high-frequency radio-like noise has been almost completely eliminated by the remaster, making it much easier to listen to. In addition, the pitch drop around AHM 12:40 has been corrected for the first time, and the wow and flutter that occurred in places has also been corrected, making this the definitive version.
