Description

On February 20th, the 13th day of the 1977 “In The Flesh” tour, Belgium’s Antwerp performance was recorded in full with a high-quality audience recording. This is a must-have for fans, recorded in perfect master quality with outstanding freshness. At the beginning, the somewhat rough sound image of Sheep may give the impression of a lack of sound quality, but as you listen, you will realize that the wonderful sound image, which does not feel sluggish or degraded in either the high or low tones, is actually a very high-grade, excellent recording. The sound is also very stable, and there are no noisy audiences around the recorder, so you can enjoy the performance. The serious mood and the solid, intense ensemble, which are typical of European performances, are wonderful, and you can hear the ideal performance of the Animals tour, which is completely different from the later American performances. Mason’s drums are recorded clearly in the overall sound image, so you can enjoy a very sharp performance. All the songs are performed at a high level, but in the guitar solo from 1 minute 50 seconds of Dogs, Gilmour seems to have forgotten the solo structure, and the solo becomes a mess (around 2:20). There are also some parts where Gilmour plays wilder than usual, and there are some surprising moments when listening. The twin guitar solo in the latter half of the 3 minute range is recorded with a surprisingly clear and powerful sound. At 12:15 of Pigs, you can hear Roger whispering “13”. The beginning of the SOYCD of the second part is recorded with a fade-in. Also pay attention to the unusual guitar solo of this day, and Gilmour’s long solo of this day, which can be heard with a deep clear sound, is a great listen. The drums, recorded with a powerful sound like the first half, are also powerful. The audience applauds during the singing part. Welcome To The Machine has all the parts, including the sound effect synth, recorded very on, and it is also a powerful take. In the second half of Have A Cigar, you can enjoy White’s original solo with the sound that would later become familiar in Thin Lizzy. SOYCD Pt6-9, which offers nearly 20 minutes of sound drama, has a clear sound and is a great performance full of creativity with a sense of tension that is sustained until the end. The encore Money, which is not included in the main program, was recorded from the Paris performance held two days after the Antwerp performance.
