Description

The live album “P.U.L.S.E” symbolized PINK FLOYD’s last world tour “THE DIVISION BELL TOUR” and was also their last work as an active band. The largest enlarged version is now available. This work is based on the official work “P.U.L.S.E”, and is a compilation of official sound sources related to overseas core enthusiasts, and has been expanded to approximately 35 minutes. All official sound sources are used, and it is a three-disc set of music that can be listened to as a single live album. To begin with, the official album “P.U.L.S.E” was both a live album and an edited musical work. Recordings from numerous shows were collected and reconstructed in a different order of songs from the actual show. The goal was to achieve perfection as an “album”. Moreover, “THE DIVISION BELL TOUR” has two types: a “madness” complete reproduction set and a regular set, and “P.U.L.S.E” combines the individuality of both. Rather than reenacting a single show, the idea was to create a culmination of a tour. Although the concept itself was a success, many songs had to be cut because they were forced into the “2-CD” framework. The songs that were cut in this way were scattered across various media, creating various versions of “P.U.L.S.E.” This work is a re-gathering of those songs into one. It is a live album that releases the framework of a “2 CD set” with a large volume of 3 discs and restores the flow of the show. There are three types of “P.U.L.S.E” used in this work. In addition to the main 2-disc CD version, we also use a 2-disc cassette version and a DVD version as supplements. The songs included in each are different, so let’s first organize the situation along with the structure of this work. ●Disc 1 [×CD/◎Cass/×DVD] Introductory Soundscape [◎CD/◎Cass/×DVD] Astronomy Domine [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Learning To Fly [◎CD/◎Cass/×DVD] What Do You Want From Me [◎CD/◎Cass/×DVD] A Great Day For Freedom [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Sorrow [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Keep Talking [×CD/×Cass /◎DVD] Take It Back [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Coming Back To Life [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] High Hopes ●Disc 2 [×CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] One Of These Days [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Shine On You Crazy Diamond THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Speak To Me [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Breathe [◎CD/◎ Cass/◎DVD] On The Run [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Time [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] The Great Gig In The Sky [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Money [◎CD/ ◎Cass/◎DVD] Us And Them [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Any Color You Like [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Brain Damage [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Eclipse ●Disc 3 [ ◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Wish You Were Here [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Another Brick In The Wall Part 2 [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Comfortably Numb [◎CD/◎Cass/× DVD] Hey You [◎CD/◎Cass/◎DVD] Run Like Hell These are the songs included in each CD/Cassette/DVD. This work also includes “Introductory Soundscape”, which was only available on the cassette version, “Take It Back”, which was only available on the DVD version, and “One Of These Days”, which was available on the cassette and DVD but was missing from the CD version, and was officially released. It covers all the songs. Moreover, the flow is natural. Although we did not play this many songs in one show, we achieved as natural a flow as possible through inspection by enthusiasts. For example, “Astronomy Domine” receives the opening SE “Introductory Soundscape” which lasts over 20 minutes, and “Hey You”, which was moved to the first half in the official CD version, is placed in the encore, which is its original place. Although it is not a complete reproduction of a single performance, it has been assembled into a set that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world of “THE DIVISION BELL TOUR”. What’s even more impressive is the finish, which is on a different level than simply rearranging them. In fact, the maniac who produced this work is no ordinary person. The other day, the expanded version of “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!”, “DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER EXPANDED EDITION”, received great acclaim, and this work was also produced by the same enthusiasts. Not only are the connections seamless, but the differences in the mix and the nuances of the sound are neatly arranged, so it doesn’t feel out of place at all. Moreover, the meticulous editing techniques are detailed not just between songs, but even within a single song. For example, the added “One of These Days” uses the cassette version (taken on October 16th) in the first half, and the DVD version (taken on October 20th) in the second half. Also, “Coming Back To Life” is also included on the CD, but this work overlaps the DVD version (both taken on October 13th). It has achieved a wonderful flow from “Take It Back”. These tasks are just examples. The amount of time and effort that has gone into making this 3-disc set has been carefully considered. The concept of “recombining official takes” may seem cheap, but I think you can understand that even if you take this one step, the horizon on which this work stands is completely different. This is a musical work in which a maniac who has staked his life on PINK FLOYD has taken every possible means and poured all his effort and passion into it. While the official 2-CD set is 2 hours and 28 minutes, this work is 3 hours, 2 minutes, and 44 seconds long. All of them are official takes, and the editing techniques are exactly the same as the official ones, giving it a great sense of work. The ultimate “P.U.L.S.E” with much higher volume and even the feel of an on-site show. This is the last and greatest shine of live act PINK FLOYD. The Best & Expanded Edition.
