Description

A high-quality audience recording of the Boston performance on May 4th, the final day of the first North American tour in 1972, where the prototype of “Madness” was performed live with the official release scheduled for the following year, and was highly praised among fans due to its many great performances. Recorded in. A remastered recording of the sound source of “BOSTON 1972,” which was released by Sirene in the past and sold out to great acclaim. Compared to the previous releases, it is recorded with a more scaled-up and excellent sound. Although there are some moments where the sound cuts out in the middle of “Madness”, the overall quality is excellent. The focus is on the sound quality, which is fresh and easy to listen to. As you listen to On The Run and Time, you will notice that Rick’s keyboard is recorded with a very beautiful sound. In addition, the balance of each instrument is wonderful and pleasant, allowing you to immerse yourself in the sound space of Floyd during this period. The aforementioned sound breaks are at 2:22 and 3:32 of On the Run, 7:07 of Us And Them, 2:53 and 5:17 of Brain Damage, and also at 0:33 and 3: of Time. There are also some fluctuations in the sound due to deterioration like 56. On the other hand, the four songs on Disc 2 do not have such problems and you can enjoy playing with peace of mind. Anyway, it’s a calm sound image, and the mysterious parts of the intro of One Of These Days and Eugene are very wonderful. The nearly 4 minute tuning time from Eugene to Echoes is also recorded without cuts. The nearly 30-minute Echoes that follows, and the nearly 10-minute encore Blues, are recorded with extremely excellent sound quality that surpasses the previous ones. Regarding Echoes, there is a momentary fluctuation in the sound at 2:45, and there are some parts where there is a bit of excessive input at the 18th to 19th minute mark, but overall this recording is splendid. Although there is a trivial chord mistake in the rare lick at 3:28, the performance is at its peak. The last Blues is also recorded with incredible sound quality! Another characteristic of this sound source is that there are few voices from the audience throughout, so even if you discount the lack of sound on disc 1, I think this is definitely a title that fans should have in their collections. This is an excellent sound source that I would like many Floyd collectors to come into contact with on this occasion. Live at the Boston Music Hall, Boston, MA.
