Description

“HAKONE APHRODITE 1971: REMASTERED & RESTORED”. This is a superb live album from the second day (August 7th) of Hakone Aphrodite, which caused a shock six years ago. This work is an excerpt live album of about 55 minutes and 3 songs, “Atomic Heart Mother”, “Taiyo Hymn”, and “Echoes”, but the uncut version of “Taiyo Hymn” and “Echoes” from the second day of Hakone, which appeared for the first time in history. A sensational title that shocked collectors. The sound transferred directly from the original reel tape (unfortunately, the original cassette seems to have been lost) was a wonderful monaural audience recording. Also, the appearance of this work was a big hint for exploring Hakone. Throughout its long history, all six records, including the iconic TV broadcast, were considered to be the “first day,” and this work of the same performance was also initially thought to be the “first day.” However, this was a mistake. As you know, at the end of last year, the “true first day recording” was discovered, and it was a shocking development that “all the recordings so far were made on the second day.” This work was also one of the “Actually on the 2nd day”, but the truth was also told in advance of the excavation the other day. It was the Reel Master label and the box that contained it. Each one had “Augt. 7th, 1971″ written on it. Since previous records indicated that the date was “August 6th”, we believed them and concluded that it was a “mislabel”, which turned out to be a mistake. I overlooked a fact that should have been known six years ago… Quiet talk. Aside from updating the facts in history books, the crux of this work lies in the music itself. In the first place, the reel tapes for these three songs were transferred from Oomoto’s cassette in the 1970s. However, at that time, the engineer at the time applied pseudo-stereo processing. When it was first released, such a reel was made into a CD as is, but if you want to approach the “truth of performance” rather than the “truth of the master”, the natural original sound without artificiality is the best. This work, “HAKONE APHRODITE 1971: REMASTERED & RESTORED,” took on the challenge of reproducing the original natural monaural sound. Naturally, this title also received rave reviews from enthusiasts, all pre-orders were sold out, and it disappeared from the market for almost five years after that. However, this time we searched again in conjunction with the birth of Osaka’s new masterpiece.
