Description
A shocking upgrade to the legendary recording known as the best-sounding “Brass/Chorus Entry Atomic Heart Mother” ever. The highest peak updated edition, created from the cassette master that retained the miraculous sound, is now available on 2CD. [A miraculous cassette that retained the legendary original sound] The upgrade master records the “Santa Monica performance on October 23, 1970.” This is the best audience recording. Many people may be able to recognize this date and place name. Yes, the show is famous for its TMOQ analog version “LIVE (=Recorder 1),” which is said to be FLOYD’s oldest bootleg. Later, in the 21st century, another recording with a longer length and better sound (Recorder 2) was discovered, and masterpieces such as “CREATURES OF THE DEEP” and “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970” have been loved. This work is an upgrade master of that long recording (Recorder 2). There are various reasons/methods for upgrading. Even if the recording is the same, it will differ greatly depending on factors such as different generations, different systems, transfer accuracy, and mastering differences. And in the case of this work, it is a “different system”. The highest peak album “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970” so far was a reel copy from the 1st generation, but this time it is a cassette master that copied the 1st generation reel master. In other words, it was digitized from the 2nd Janet cassette. You may think, “Isn’t the 2nd generation a failure?”, but in the case of vintage recordings, the story is not so simple. The superiority or inferiority of a copy depends on various factors, such as when the copy was made, the equipment used, and the conditions in which it was stored afterwards. In fact, in the case of this recording, the 1st generation was made twice (in the early 1980s and in 1986) from the original 5-inch reel, and the latter used more accurate equipment and was cut during dubbing. There wasn’t. This work is a cassette made from that second reel, and is currently in far better condition than the original reel, let alone the first generation reel. He was the best master who has kept the sound that even Omoto Reel has lost to this day. [The best-sounding live version of “Atom Shinbo”] The quality of this work proves that promise with the sound. First, it’s long. It also includes Roger’s MC before “Mystery,” which was not even on “SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970,” which was the longest album to date. This alone shows how meticulously the 2nd Gene Cassette was produced, but the sound was even more so. Anyway, it’s vivid. Not only is there much less distortion and noise, but the roundness of the sounds is quickly wiped away, and the contours of each note are clearly defined. Originally it was a recording with a dazzling direct feeling, but in this work it feels as if the hall sound itself has been drastically reduced, and the sound board-like directness has been further enhanced. The booming beat of “Heaven’s Rule,” the singing voice of “Green Is the Color,” which extends beautifully to the breathy feeling, the dramaticism of “Fat and Tottering Sun,” which boldly develops after seven minutes, and “Eugene,” There’s even a drunk who makes a fuss about “Be careful with the axe” (bitter smile). All sounds have been vividly reborn. Moreover, the vividness is extremely natural because it is not something that was created later, but the freshness of the master itself (the researcher responsible for the transfer does the mastering, but it is only to strengthen the sense of stability. It seems that no work has been done that could cause this.) The highlight of the show revived with such a sound is the second half, where “Mystery” and “Atomic Heart Mother” continue. This show is also known for the use of synthesizers in the middle part of “Mystery”, but the historical moment is also wonderfully vivid. Amidst the chaos of slide bars, echo chambers, etc., synths (early Moog modular system?) erupt, creating a landscape that would never have been possible in conventional rock music. Literally, rock music is evolving and evolving right now. The atmosphere that was floating in the forefront of that scene is blown out from the speakers. Then, the “Atomic Heart Mother” who has made this show a legend appears. It is said that there were a total of 20 performances with the brass/chorus corps, of which sound evidence has been confirmed for 11 of them. The Santa Monica performance of this work was performed with the Roger Wagner Choir and brass section, conducted by Peter Phillips, and is the only American performance in which the sound remains. And it is in this “Atom Heart Mother” that you can feel the quality of the sound of this work most intensely. After all, the extremely famous recording, which was originally said to have the best sound among the existing audience recordings (of Atomic Heart Mother with orchestra), has been further upgraded. In fact, every inch of the intricately detailed ensemble is crystal clear. Whether the brass sounds thickly or the chorus stands up like a huge wall, the band’s performance is clear and clear. Even though it is a monaural recording, the sounds do not mix together even when they are layered, and they can be heard neatly separated. Unfortunately, even with the 2nd Gene Cassette, the tape change part (approximately 19 seconds around the 23rd minute) of the original recording is still missing, but the maniac who produced the master this time started from the same melody part (around 1 and a half minutes). patch. The highest peak version that can be listened to without any discomfort has been realized. I wrote that there were a total of 20 performances of “Atom Shinbo” with brass/chorus, but only 4 of them were performed in the United States. In other words, what is contained in this work is also the site where Americans witnessed real progressive rock. On such a historic night, this new masterpiece allows you to experience the “Atomic Heart Mother” scene in the highest quality ever. The best audience recording of “October 23, 1970 Santa Monica Performance”. This is a legendary recording that has been known as “listening to the best-sounding brass/chorus Atomic Heart Mother,” and this work was digitized from the 2nd Gene Cassette, which is said to be in better condition than the original master. Not only can you listen to the MC before “Mystery”, which was not on the previous version. The sound has also been updated to its highest peak, the roundness of the sound has been quickly wiped out, and the outline of each note has become clearer. It feels as if the hall sound itself has been drastically reduced, and the sound board-like direct feeling is further enhanced. The tape change part of “Atom Shinbo” was also supplemented with another part, making it a miraculous live album that greatly evolved the legendary recording.
