Description

“UMMAGUMMA LIVE ALBUM SIDE” was greeted with shock as soon as it was released. Two sequel “FLAT TRANSFER” albums will be released simultaneously. This work is the third in the series, following “UMMAGUMMA” and “MORE”. This is the monumental work of progressive rock, “Atomic Heart Mother”. [A miraculous new discovery by the original master before cutting] “UMMAGUMMA LIVE ALBUM SIDE” was truly shocking. “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”, which was newly discovered in a European country, was brought through its own route, and this is the source of the surprise. It is neither the beginning of the product LP nor the cutting master. It was a master tape with zero deterioration that had never been converted into physical grooves. Moreover, it is a finished product. It’s not a demo or rough mix that is common with leaked material, but the mixdown and mastering are perfectly finished. This is just a guess, but I think it was probably one of the master tapes distributed to various countries for press purposes. Although it is a familiar masterpiece, it was a shocking work drawn with an unknown master sound. However, the impact did not end with just one work. Two masters arrive one tempo behind “UMMAGUMMA LIVE ALBUM SIDE”. This work is “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER” of “Atom Shinbo” which is one of them. [“Atom Heart Mother” has a vivid outline even among the thick orchestration] The difference is obvious from the first moment. In fact, “Atomic Heart Mother” originally had a hiss noise, and all official CDs are fade-processed to make the hiss less noticeable. However, this work begins with a cut-in. In fact, this is the real processing, and both the original work and the LP are cut-ins. Well, that’s just evidence. What is really important is the sound itself that runs through the whole story. “UMMAGUMMA LIVE ALBUM SIDE” and “MORE” were also wonderful, but this work is also the highest peak album that surpasses all official CDs. The early PINK FLOYD works, which were first released on CD in 1987, were already using deteriorated masters, and the same is true for “Atom Heart Mother”. However, this work is a master before LP cutting, rather than being made into a CD, and the “sound before deterioration” is vacuum-preserved. In fact, the sound is shocking. It’s a true natural sound without any equalization or limiters, but its dynamism and delicacy are at a loss for words. The most vivid thing is the orchestra. Even in the current remaster, there is some cloudiness, but this work (of course) is clear even though there is no evidence of digital processing. The silent parts are full of jet-black depth, and the outline of the bubbling performance sound is bright but not sharp, and it is wide with plenty of mass. You can clearly hear every instrument in the orchestra, and the gaps are deep, giving it a three-dimensional feel. That’s why it’s dynamic without any strange sound pressure gain. And the same goes for the band sounds that break into the orchestration. The outlines are sharp while coexisting with the thick harmonies, and you can even feel the trembling of the guitar strings and drum skin in a real way. In fact, it may be “Atomic Heart Mother” where you can feel the greatness of “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER” most strongly. “UMMAGUMMA LIVE ALBUM SIDE” was a live album, and “MORE” is a studio work, but it is still a band-based album. On the other hand, “Atom Heart Mother” has a rich orchestral performance, and “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast” depicts the scenery with sound effects. You can experience the beauty of the master sound in every corner of a wide variety of ensembles and musicality. “Enjoy a masterpiece with the best sound”…A simple yet profound desire that can be said to be limitless. What is the ultimate sound, and what remains of it? Enthusiasts around the world have searched for it using all their wisdom, effort, and curiosity. This work is the “Atom Heart Mother” edition that was the result of that journey of exploration. This is the “master sound before it becomes a groove” that can’t be reached even on the 1st press LP, let alone the official CDs that use degraded masters. This is amazing. “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”, which was brought to us through our own route, has been made into a CD. This is a master tape that has never been converted into physical grooves before the cutting process, and has no equalization or limiters, giving it a true natural sound. The master deterioration of “Atom Shinbo” was seen when it was first released on CD, but this work retains the “sound before deterioration”, and even in the thick orchestration, the outline of each note is vivid. , the sound effects are also very realistic. “Atomic Heart Mother” has higher sound quality than any official CD.
