Description
The charity live “Japan Aid” was held for two days at Jingu Stadium in the middle of winter on December 20th and 21st, 1986, and Peter Gabriel’s live performance, which was the opening act for both days, was recorded in ultra-high quality sound. Completely recorded with audience recording. Taper’s first complete new source recording of Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Phil Collins’s post-80s live performances with amazing ultra-high sound quality. As the name suggests, you can enjoy the entire show with the “PERFECT” sound on both days. Other performers at the festival included Jackson Browne, Lou Reed, Little Stephen, and Howard Jones, who performed for seven hours on both days under freezing skies. Disc 1 includes approximately 54 minutes of the first day’s performance. The first day begins with Peter’s Japanese greeting, “Konbanwa, Japan.” The opening song was Red Rain, and when the rhythm started at around 2 minutes and 30 seconds, Peter interrupted the performance by saying in English, “There’s a problem. I can’t hear the bass.” Suddenly, Here Comes The Flood is sung by the keyboard and Peter, and the scene of connecting the scene is realistically recorded. The equipment seems to have recovered during this song, and after the performance, Red Rain will start again following the MC of “We try again, Red Rain”. This time it was played without any problems, and Tony Levin’s bass can also be heard clearly. After Shock The Monkey’s performance, Peter Gabriel greeted in Japanese, “Thank you so much for coming! It’s cold!” Occasionally there is equipment noise between songs, so it doesn’t seem to be in perfect condition, but the concert progresses at a good tempo. Following San Jacinto and Sledgehammer, the familiar Biko will be played with an intro introducing anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko. The set ends with In Your Eyes, where all the performers appear on stage, and the live ends with a great excitement from the audience. At the end, you can listen to the female host’s announcement of the end of the performance. Disc 2 contains approximately 51 minutes of the second day’s performance. This is also recorded in the same high quality as the first day. Unlike the first day, which was plagued by equipment trouble, the live performance was much smoother on this day. There is no Japanese MC after Shock The Monkey, and No Self Control is played instead of San Jacinto from the previous day. After the show ended, there was some equipment noise like on the first day, but the live itself went smoothly. In the member introduction on the second day, in addition to the introduction that “arrived today,” you can also hear the name “Youssou Udall.” On this day, contrary to the first day, the last song order was changed to In Your Eyes and Biko (probably as originally planned). Biko’s moving performance, which lasts for 11 minutes, is a must-listen. At the end, the female host MCs, “There will be a finale later” and ends the show. Peter’s “JAPAN AID” stage was broadcast as a digest on commercial TV, so it is familiar to fans, but this is the first time in history that the two shows are completely captured in the best possible sound. It’s a great achievement. Jingu Stadium, Tokyo, Japan 20th & 21st December 1986 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 Live at Jingu Stadium, Tokyo, Japan 20th December 1986(54:24) 1.
