Description

This is a soundboard recording of Pete Townshend’s solo rehearsal for the 1979 charity concert “Rock Against Racism” held in London, leaked by a person involved. This took place on July 12th of that year at Shepperton Studios in London, and features Kenny Jones, who had just joined the Who at the time, on drums, and John Rabbitt Bantrick, a keyboardist who was a touring member of the Who. This rare collector’s item includes not only Who numbers, but also the R&R cover “Blue Suede Shoes,” making it a valuable recording source. 01. Drowned (take 1)/02. Drowned (take 2)/03. I’m One/04.
