Description
In 2008, Paul held only four concerts. At the time, he was having trouble with his divorce from Heather Mills, and was unable to tour for a long time. Unfortunately, the three years of 2006, 2007 and 2008 were lost time. Although one-off concerts were held to maintain the band’s skills, tours were never held. However, all four performances in 2008 were held at large stadium-filled venues, and they are all known among fans as special concerts. The concerts held this year were in the following four cities. June 1, 2008 Liverpool performance June 14, 2008 Kiev performance July 20, 2008 Quebec performance September 25, 2008 Tel Aviv performance And this work includes the June 14, 2008 Kiev performance. Kiev is the capital of Ukraine. Ukraine is an independent country that became independent in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. It was here in Ukraine that Paul left a huge mark on history. Despite the heavy rain, they held the largest concert anyone had ever seen. The audience was actually 350,000 people. Although it was a free concert, it attracted an audience the size of five Tokyo Domes at once. Since no stadium could accommodate the unimaginable audience of 350,000 people, the concert was held at Independence Square, the site of the 2004 Orange Revolution. A temporary stage was erected in a square located at the intersection of Kiev’s streets. The 350,000 people who attended the concert were not the only ones who watched the concert. Huge screens were installed in six cities in Ukraine (Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Sevastopol, Lviv, Donetsk, and Odessa), and it is said that 195,000 people watched in the country. The concert was also broadcast on Ukrainian TV, and it is said that more than 10 million Ukrainians watched this historic concert in total. This work completely records this historic Kiev performance with a leaked soundboard. Immediately after the concert, a professional shot video was released from the video that was relayed, and a soundboard sound source derived from the video was released. However, it cannot be denied that the quality of those works was not so good from a current perspective. The video was on a 3:4 screen and the quality was not good. Although the sound source derived from the video was of high quality, unfortunately Paul’s words during the concert were overshadowed by a Ukrainian interpreter. It can’t be helped since it’s a broadcast sound source, but it can be said that it was flawed as a pure live album because of the DJ’s talking. This work is not the video broadcast at the time or the audio derived from the video, but a leaked soundboard sound source that was recorded separately from the video. In the pre-show part that is not included in the video, the sound of John Hamel playing and tuning the strings is vividly recorded, with the background music that livens up the atmosphere that was playing at the venue that day. Of course, since it is a leaked soundboard sound source that has not been broadcast, there will be no announcements by the DJ as mentioned above. It is said that the sound source was originally recorded officially for the purpose of release, but the truth is not certain. In any case, it is the first appearance, and it is a complete leaked soundboard sound source that no one has ever heard, let alone a download site. And the content of the concert is also wonderful. After all, “Mrs. Vandebilt” premiered on this day. Although it is the fourth song on the album “Band On The Run”, it is the first song that has never been performed live even during the Wings era. It was probably adopted on this date because the shouts of “ho, hey ho” are Cossack-like, and because this album was exceptionally released in communist countries during the former Soviet Union. Looking at the photos from that day, you can see that the concert was held in heavy rain, and after playing “Good Day Sunshine,” Paul sarcastically said, “It’s a song about the weather like today.” . And the interesting one is probably “Birthday.” Paul misunderstands the set list, the band members start playing the bass line of “Birthday” and Paul starts playing the bass line of “Back In The USSR”. The band members who noticed this suddenly switched to “Back In The USSR” themselves, but Paul stopped it. “I made a mistake in the order of the songs,” he says, starting “Birthday” again. The medley of “A Day In The Life – Give Peace A Chance” is the second performance after the previous one in Liverpool. This work is a complete recording of the concert held in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on June 14, 2008, with the first leaked soundboard sound source. Disc 3 includes the sound check of the day. This is an audience sound source. This was a large-scale free concert that not only attracted 350,000 people, but was also watched live throughout Ukraine. The venue was Independence Square, the site of the Orange Revolution. It is a concert that will go down in Ukraine’s history, with the president and his wife who came to power during the Orange Revolution in attendance. Ukrainian girls really knock us out!
