Description
The much talked about IEM (in-ear monitor) album is now being released. All the live albums from this Japan tour have already been released, but this one is in a class of its own! This work includes the “April 25, 2017: Nippon Budokan” performance. This is the first day of the tour. There have already been many different audience recordings at the Nippon Budokan, but this time it’s IEM. This is an amazing album where you can enjoy the super vivid sound of the soundboard audio in a full show. This work is a three-disc set with the main part of the concert with such a superb IEM on discs 1-2 and the sound check on the day on disc 3. The mere appearance of IEM is a shock, but the quality is amazing. IEM is a monitor sound that you hear with earphones, and it jumps into the members’ ears with wireless radio waves. The radio waves are intercepted and recorded, but they are unstable because they are radio waves, and they usually cut out partially or the reception noise gets mixed in. Therefore, it is common to matrix it with the audience recording to create a seamless finish. However, the IEM in this work is incredibly beautiful! Far from being cut off, there is no reception noise at all, and it can be enjoyed just like a soundboard. The super vivid sound is in a completely different dimension from the audience recording. The subtleties of the performance recorded without passing through the speakers, and Paul’s singing voice… that super direct feeling is exactly the vividness of “direct connection to the brain”. “So, is it completely the same as the soundboard album?” “Do we no longer need audience albums?” That is not the case. IEMs are listened to by members and staff to check the progress of songs and shows, so to speak, for work. For that reason, the mix is specialized to make it easier to grasp the progress, and it is not a sound for appreciation. It is the same in this work. This IEM is (probably) thought to be an IEM for keyboardist Paul Wickens, and the keyboard, chorus, and percussion are mixed louder than Paul’s singing voice. In that respect, the audience recording is a sound designed to be heard by the audience, and in reality it is the “sound that reached the audience”. Essentially, IEMs lack a sense of beauty. …But, even though I say it in a complicated way, the persuasive power of this extremely powerful and super clear IEM sound is also fierce. In particular, the IEMs in this work are smoother and clearer than any other IEM. It is a paradise-like album where you can enjoy a full show with a sense of closeness and immersion as if you were standing on stage with Paul in a noiseless beautiful IEM. And the third disc following the two-disc full show at Nippon Budokan is the sound check on the day. We have also released the press CD sound check album “CLOSED SOUNDCHECK AT BUDOKAN 2017”, but of course it is a different master. Our CD was a type where you listen to two types of IEMs in stereo, while this work is one Paul Wickens IEM, and the sound nuances and frequency bands of the sound picked up are slightly different. In the scene where the Beatles version is played on the “Magical Mystery Tour”, the press CD allows you to hear the finer sounds, but the sound is more solid and glossy in this work. That’s because this sound check was also intercepted by the same person as the main show of this work, and the sound is noiseless of the same quality. You can enjoy Paul on the day in its entirety with the same recording person and the same quality. The amazing Budokan IEM suddenly appeared on the Internet. I think there will be a matrix album with audience recording, but this work is a masterpiece that records the original as it is. Enjoy “Paul in 2017” with super clear sound board sound that feels like a touch. Enjoy “the second Nippon Budokan” in every corner, including the sound check. ★ This is amazing! Super high quality in-ear monitor sound source of the 2017 Budokan performance. Surprisingly, there is no noise. There is no doubt that this is the decisive sound source that represents Paul’s 2017 Japan tour. The sound check was also recorded with the same clear, noiseless sound as the main live performance. This is a stunning Budokan documentary that not only Paul fans but all Western music fans should listen to! Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 25th April 2017 Disc 1 (61:39) 1. Intro. 2.
