Description
It is well known that the final day of Paul McCartney’s 1993 Tokyo Dome concert was broadcast on TV with a strangely edited sound check, but for some reason, a different long version was broadcast in South America under the guise of a Mexican performance. This caused a lot of confusion among enthusiasts, and there were even items sold as Mexican performances at the time. In addition, it was certainly attractive that many songs that were cut from the Japanese broadcast were included, but since it is a South American sound source from 1993, when broadcasting and general home recording technology were still lagging behind, the sound quality is quite harsh. The mono soundboard recording, which has a narrow range and a balanced balance with Paul’s voice and Robbie McIntosh’s guitar, was of a quality that was not typical of the 1990s. Hybrid items that combine such rotten soundboard sound sources with stereo sound from Japanese TV broadcasts and audience recordings have been released in the past, but this item is a hybrid version that was recently uploaded to the Internet by an enthusiast who put together three different sound sources. However, the audience recording used here is a sound source with a distant sound image, and the South American sound board and the highest quality sound source in Japan were combined, so the sound quality is all over the place. Previously released items were processed to at least mitigate the roughness of the South American sound board, but this version just combines three different sound sources. The connection between the sound sources is also extremely simple, as if a maniac had made it using editing software about 15 years ago. However, the main South American sound board is of extremely rough quality, so there is no more affordable item for those who want to listen to the sound source that is treated like a stepping stone among maniacs. In any case, the main sound board recording is not like 1993, so even if it is Paul’s visit to Japan, please be prepared and try it!
