Description

This title focuses on Paul’s solo, Wings era, rare tracks from the 70’s, and mainly early sound sources up to 1972. The first disc 1 contains an uncut medley from the 1970 album “McCartney”, from “Hot As Sun” through “Glasses” to the complete “Suicide”. “Oo You” includes two takes of the early backing track and the jam session that was the inspiration for this song. Next was the complete version of “Ram On” from “Ram” released in 1971. In the album, this take was divided into two and recorded separately, but the take recorded in this work seems to be the previous stage. The take itself is the same, but it is a valuable version that you can listen to throughout. I think there is a special feeling for the original version as it is Paul’s favorite piece that has been played at the sound check before the recent live show. There are few outtakes from this album, and two songs, “Backseat” and “Long Haired Lady,” are backing tracks, and the latter has a slight rough vocal. The album “Wild Life” includes three familiar songs that Paul and Linda sing while playing an acoustic in the garden, as well as a promo edit of “Love Is Strange”. Disc 2 contains the rehearsals for “Peace for Ireland” and the sessions for the 1972 single release. Take 3 of “C Moon” includes Linda’s lazy chorus that is not in the release version, giving it a Wings feel. Track 9, “Suicide,” was sung a cappella when she appeared on Rock Around the World in 1976, and I don’t remember that it had ever been recorded anywhere. Although it is only a short song introduction, it is probably the first sound source that appears in this work. Next is a rough mix of Buddy Holly’s cover album “Holly Days”. Denny Laine is the main singer, but in “Rave On” you can hear the Wings-like chorus work. The last recording is a session sound source performed in 1977. This work includes three versions of “Suicide” from different eras, but this 1977 version has a unique intro and is a perfect performance. Despite the changing times and attempts to record this song many times, it remains one of the many songs that remain unreleased to this day. The rehearsal sound source for “London Town” is one that plays that impressive guitar phrase on a piano, and an electric piano covers it from the middle. Unfortunately, it ends in the middle, but this is the part I really wanted to hear until the end. A title that includes rare sound sources from the 1970s ranging from Paul’s solo to Wings.
