Description

The Boston performance on July 9, 2013 was completely recorded with an unprecedented super high quality audience recording! The “OUT THERE” TOUR lasted for about two and a half years, from May 2013 to October 2015, with 91 performances, but this Boston performance was the 18th concert in the early stages. When it was first released, this work gained popularity as a “report on the just-beginning “OUT THERE”” and “best recording of July 2013”, but looking back at it with today’s eyes, it has a completely different meaning. The wonderful sound is top class even when looking at the entire long “OUT THERE”. It is a masterpiece among masterpieces that is worthy of being a masterpiece of “OUT THERE”, which has produced countless famous recordings. In fact, it boasted the best sound of all the sound sources that had been circulating up to that point. The on sound image is a given, and for example, the edgy texture of the guitar in “Day Tripper” is transmitted too realistically. It was not just a close sound, but an outstanding recording that realistically captured the tone that such bands spun. Moreover, Paul’s stage performance on this day, recorded with such sound quality, is truly amazing! Paul’s spirited shouts can be heard even in “Maybe I’m Amazed,” which always seems difficult to sing, and he also sings wonderfully in “Nineteen Hundred And Eighty-Five,” which was played before that. Paul was in top condition that day. Still, it’s live. In “Hi, Hi, Hi,” which was played as an encore, there are rare parts where the band’s performance becomes suspicious, and in Paul’s live stage, where solid performance is the norm, you can enjoy a fun happening. Although it is such a perfect recording, if I had to point out a drawback, it would be the sound of the wind hitting the microphone every few songs. You can understand that if you listen to the beginning of “Let It Be.” However, the essential performance and singing are captured louder and more powerfully than the sound of the wind. Even if you notice it at first, it’s at a level where you forget about it as you listen. The mastering is also perfect. The low-midrange, which was slightly too prominent in the original recording, has been suppressed and fine-tuned to give a more expansive feel. The original superb sound quality has been elevated to the ultimate and unmatched dimension and sealed in a CD. This is such an outstandingly high-quality album that you might mistake it for a monitor mix at first listen. What was once the “best of the period” became “that was amazing” later. This is a masterpiece live album that is a perfect example of underground evaluation. It is the revival of a great album that we would like you to revisit now. Live at Fenway Park, Boston, MA.
