Description

The final day of the 2024 “GOT BACK” tour, which has been a hot topic due to Ringo Starr’s encore appearance and performance with Paul, was filmed at the O2 Arena in London, and the video was immediately released on YouTube as a digest of the live performance. What’s interesting is that it captures the lobby of the venue before the live performance starts, and even shows the types of T-shirts sold at the concession stand, which is unique to maniacs. The footage of the main live performance, which is the basis, was shot from the balcony, so there is no hope for a close-up, but this gift on the final day of the tour is a special item. As the photographer, he probably did not intend to capture the full live performance, so familiar repertoires such as “Lady Madonna” and “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” were cut out and recorded, but some other songs that were cut were supplemented with other footage. Furthermore, if there was footage from a closer distance, it was replaced, and the total number of songs and time were significantly upgraded. There is also footage capturing the entire stage and footage from the arena, so you can see the final day’s live performance from various perspectives. In “Live And Let Die,” the familiar explosion on stage literally “misfired” at a different place than usual (!), making Paul smile wryly while singing at the unexpected happening, and the scene where he introduces the Hofner Bass that he has returned to his hands for the first time in 50 years, and the scene where a children’s choir appears on stage and sings the chorus in “Wonderful Christmastime,” which was specially performed in December. After “Jet,” there is a heartwarming scene where Paul spots a Japanese person in the audience and shouts his favorite Japanese, “The Beatles! The best!” Ringo Starr, who was the big topic of the day, appeared from “Sgt. Peppers (Reprise)” and not only played with Abe on twin drums, but also played the next song, “Helter Skelter,” together, which was a tear-jerker. Although it tends to be overshadowed by this surprise, Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones also appeared on “Get Back” and played lead guitar, showing a re-appearance of the O2 Arena in 2018. Although it is a digest recording, it contains all the highlights of the live performance scenes from the last day of the latest “GOT BACK” tour.
