Paul McCartney/Live Archives 2007-2010

Paul McCartney’s 70s almost coincided with his 30s. In his 30s, full of talent and ambition, he led the band Wings and ran through the fruitful 1970s. And it was thought that this would continue into the 1980s and beyond. However, during the first year of the 1980s, two major events occurred for Paul. First, in January 1980, he was arrested for marijuana possession while visiting Japan for a concert. Paul is detained, and while the interrogation continues, which may end at any moment, the rest of the band, exhausted, return home. Wings falls apart when Denny Lane, who was especially loyal to him, returns to Japan. Paul lost his band, which made it impossible for him to go on tour. At the end of the same year, John Lennon was murdered by a deranged person. When Yukiko Okada committed suicide, many young people followed suit, and it was even brought up as an issue in the Diet, so in every era and in every case, there are people who are inspired and try to imitate her. At this point, Paul seemed genuinely afraid that it would be his turn next and that he would be shot from the audience if he went on stage. As a result, they did not tour at all during the 1980s, and were completely silent in terms of live activities. On the other hand, although he did not appear on tour, he has made a number of one-off live appearances. This work focuses on Paul’s one-off live performances and is a chronological series of detailed live performances that are not included in many collector’s items.
