A 2CD+1DVD compilation of audio and video footage of a secret gig that was held between two performances at Desert Trip, a rock legends festival held in October 2016. This was a gig at a club in Pioneertown, California, which was suddenly announced on Paul’s official website on October 13th, during a performance at Desert Trip. The audio CD contains a complete recording of the day’s performance, recorded by digital audience recording from the front row of the venue. Since it was a small pub with only about 300 people, the sound was surprisingly close and full of realism. Moreover, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly from start to finish, and Paul seemed in a good mood, saying, “Tonight we’re going Liverpool style.” Although the set was basically a slightly more compact version of their recent standard set, starting with “Save Us” and continuing with “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Junior’s Farm” and “Letting Go” were performed in the second half, and “Hey Jude,” which is usually performed on a grand piano, was performed on a mini piano with only keys installed on the stage, creating the excitement that can only be achieved in a small venue, which is unique to a club gig. The video DVD compiles as many good images as possible of the day’s events, including various audience videos, including mobile ones, mainly shot from close range, including different angles. Pioneertown is a special unincorporated area in Southern California, and is a charming town with old wooden buildings. The gig will be held at a special venue in a pub called Pappy & Harriet’s. Paul has never performed live at such a location before, so watching the video will give you a better feel for the atmosphere. As a bonus, the DVD also includes audio and video of a surprise live performance at the New Year’s Live event held on St. Barthélemy, a Caribbean island, on New Year’s Eve 2016, where Paul jumped on The Killers’ stage and sang “Helter Skelter.” This is a must-have collector’s edition for fans who are planning to return to Japan in 2017.
