Description
Following the LA Forum “EVONY AND IVORY 1989” on November 27, 1989, this time, we are introducing the live sound source of the 1989 tour that recorded the LA Forum on November 23, the first day of LA 5 consecutive performances. This tour was just at the turning point of bootleg media, especially regarding the American tour, all the items released from 1989 to 1990 were analog LPs. Come to think of it, even on the day of “EVONY AND IVORY 1989”, a sound source with inferior sound quality was released with the title “YESTERDAY, TODAY & McCARTNEY”. This LA Forum November 23rd was released as a three-disc set called “BACK IN THE U.S.A.” at the time. It was released on white, red, and blue color vinyl, clearly conscious of the masterpiece title “WINGS FROM THE WINGS” that recorded the last day of the LA Forum in 1976, and it made enthusiasts at the time groan. But that’s not all, this LP boasts outstanding high-quality sound among the LPs that recorded the 1989 American tour released at the time, and its sound quality also made enthusiasts groan. However, this was the time when LPs were being replaced by CDs, so even though it boasted such good sound quality, it did not receive the recognition it deserved as a masterpiece. It was a bad time. Moreover, as for the Japanese fans, there was a feeling that they flocked to the subsequent performance in Japan, so it can be said that it is an item that was overlooked even more. This time, the LP has been reprinted on CD. Now in 2013, we have brought back to modern times masterpieces and recordings that even enthusiasts may have overlooked. As expected, it cannot match the invincible clearness and balance of “EVONY AND IVORY 1989”, but the on-sound image and fine-grained clearness captured by this LP recording are still very attractive. It would be surprising that such a wonderful sound quality recording was overlooked in 1989. Moreover, the parts that were separated on the LP are connected by cross-fade processing and summarized so that they can be listened to as a whole. In addition, the cut that occurs at the beginning of “Live And Let Die” is in a complete state by patching from the intact part of the song. Best of all, by accurately adjusting the pitch, which was thought to have been raised in order to fit the high-quality recording onto three LPs, we were able to create a CD that is much easier to listen to than the original LP! The 1989 tour was before Paul got sick, so the fact that he was able to shout easily is unique to this period. In addition, the overall performance is not as strong as the next year, but the calm performance and the good tone of Paul’s voice are connected to the quality of the performance that can be listened to with confidence. In addition, there was no PA trouble like the 27th on this day, so it is a very excellent recording that shows how Paul himself is enjoying the first day of the LA Forum live for the first time since 1976.
