Until now, the 2018 Freshen Up Japan Tour had only been released for the Tokyo performance, but this time, the Nagoya performance, which was the final part of the tour, was finally released. That alone is enough to attract attention from enthusiasts, but since the sound source is confined, the sound source obtained at the time of its release is literally the best audience recording. That’s no wonder, following the Ryogoku Kokugikan gig released at the same time this week, the same famous taper has done a great job once again. Not only was “RYOGOKU KOKUGIKAN 2018” a smaller venue than Budokan, but it was also recorded from the back of the box seats, which achieved amazing sound collection. Amazing sound quality. Considering the characteristics of the venue, I expected a dynamism similar to Tokyo Dome, but this time, the audience recording delivered by Mr. Taper had a surprisingly tight texture. In other words, the hall echoes that are typical of large venues are modest, and the sound image is intense. Thanks to this, I already have a feeling that the definitive version will be released even after the Nagoya performance, which had a modest release. Since it is such a special sound source, just like Ryogoku, Taper himself has released the sound source on the internet. Also, since the release is on two discs, the pre-performance footage is shorter than the version available there. However, I don’t think anyone would feel that this is a disadvantage. Since it is such a super high-quality sound source, it is a sound source that can be released as is, but we have taken equalization to refine the recording which is still special. Since the original sound source has excellent characteristics, the sound quality has evolved into a solid and tight state, and the difference from the version heard on the internet is obvious. The sound quality of “Got To Get You Into My Life,” which was performed on the second day at the Tokyo Dome with horns filled with mania and excitement, really shines! You can still enjoy the power of the glaring horn corps and Paul Band’s rock-solid performance. And the performance that was held to bring the Japan tour to a close was an outstanding performance. Everyone on stage from Paul on down was taking on the live performance with a lot of spirit and a lot of energy. For example, during the interlude of “My Valentine”, he mumbles something (the sound is so good that you can even hear his gestures), and in the following “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five”, before he starts playing the intro, he exclaims, “Ha!” It’s interesting to hear people shouting. Unlike “Yesterday”, “Maybe I’m Amazed”, which was revived in Nagoya, also has powerful singing from the beginning. Just by listening to these scenes, you can feel Paul’s top condition. Along with Ryogoku, Paul’s first performance in Nagoya was a hot topic during his visit to Japan. What’s more, the hustle and hustle on the last day of the tour was extraordinary. In front of “Fuh You”, he said “It’s a new song!”, but in front of “Band On The Run”, he even said “It’s the best!”. What’s even more moving is that during “Hey Jude,” which concludes the main story, Paul recognizes the Nagoya version of the chorus card “NA” that started to become popular among Japanese fans last year, and repeats “Nana na goya!” over and over again. It’s probably the scene that made me scream. The best part was that during the encore, they had originally planned to play “I Saw Her Standing There” just like they did on the second day at Tokyo Dome, but when they saw a fan’s request card, they suddenly changed it to “Birthday”. too. This moment was the perfect gift for the fans in Nagoya, as they were about to release their masterpiece, the Deluxe Edition of the White Album, the next day. While Paul’s hustle is obvious, in the earlier song “Fuh You,” he started singing too fast, and the song had a higher a cappella index than usual (because of this, the background music started to match Paul’s song from the middle). On the contrary, the novelty of the injury is rather enjoyable. Anyway, it is an extremely high-quality sound source, and it is an amazing recording that has finally surpassed the second day of that famous sound source Austin. I would like everyone from beginners to enthusiasts to enjoy the powerful ultra recording, which is undoubtedly the highest quality at this stage. This very nice CD of the famous Nanana Goya performance that wrapped up this Japan tour beautifully, is definitely a candidate for the best! Taper of the previous song “One On One At Budokan” (remastered memo) ★Although the sound quality is super high, if the separation of the bass line was improved, the sound quality would be even higher, so I made adjustments.
