Description

PAT TRAVERS BAND in 1978 welcomed “another Pat” who would become famous in HUGHES/THRALL, ASIA, MEAT LOAF, etc. A spectacular video that allows you to experience the scene at its best is now available. This work includes “November 15, 1978 Fresno Performance”. This is the shocking audience shot. In our store, we are introducing a series of the best videos taken in Fresno in the 70’s, and this work is the Pat Travers edition. The biggest point of this work is the highest quality, which is one of the best in the series, but first of all, the position of the show. For Travers, 1978 was also a time when two tours intersected, so let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check it out. “PUTTING IT STRAIGHT TOUR”・January 18th – April 29th: North America #1 (42 performances)・July 16th – 29th: North America #2 (4 performances) “HEAT IN THE STREET TOUR”・September 17th: Providence performance ・October 14th: Johnson City performance ・November 3rd – December 15th: North America #3 (19 performances) ←★Here★ This is Pat Travers’ 1978. All shows are in the United States, but from the beginning of the year to the summer there will be a “PUTTING IT STRAIGHT TOUR”. After that, we released “HEAT IN THE STREET” and resumed touring in the fall. This work was the 9th concert of such “North America #3”. This work shot at such a show is one of the best quality even in the masterpiece series. There are roughly two types of angles for the Fresno series: a “front-down” perspective and a “diagonal view from the right side.” This work is a “front-down view”. In fact, I can’t say that it’s the best in the series for stability due to slight camera shake, but I can definitely say that the zoom is beautiful and the image quality is vivid. When you get up close, Travers’s waist-up fills the screen, and you can clearly see the sweaty chest that is removed from between his shirt and the tips of his fingers dancing on his neck. And the camera work that zooms in on each member is also great. After all, PAT TRAVERS BAND at that time was literally a super band. Not only the main character Travers and his partner Mars Cowling, but also “another Pat”, Pat Thrall, joins the cast. Furthermore, sitting on a stool is Tommy Aldridge, who would go on to dominate famous British and American bands (his drum solo at the end of “Hammerhead” is amazing!). It is packed with plenty of close-up scenes that allow you to see the facial expressions of each person. While the visuals are beautiful, the most amazing thing is the sound. This series is always synchronized with the best audience recording, but the audio of this work is really amazing. The sense of close contact exceeds that of the spectacular view, and you can’t feel the distance at all, and the sound, which is noticeable when listening to it microscopically through headphones, has the gloss and scale of an official work, without causing any turbidity or cloudiness. The guitars played by the two Pats are neatly separated, and even in the harmony of the chorus, each individual’s voice can be clearly heard. Of course, if Tommy’s drumming is solid, Mars’ bass is also solid. In fact, the three songs in the second half, “Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights),” “Life In London,” and “Makes No Difference” are overlaid with separate recordings that are a little further away, but they also have snare sounds. is only slightly lighter, but the outstanding clarity remains the same. You can clearly enjoy the subtleties of the super band ensemble. What’s more, the content is truly “LIVE with your eyes! GO FOR WHAT YOU KNOW.” Although it has the same members as the traditional live work, the recording time was also January/February 1979. In other words, this work is only three months apart at most. Numbers such as “Hooked On Music,” “Gettin’ Betta,” “Heat In The Street,” “Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights),” and “Makes No Difference” see the “other side” of “LIVE! GO FOR WHAT YOU KNOW.” “Rock n’ Roll Susie”, “Need Love”, “Life In London”, and “Hammerhead”, which cannot be heard on the traditional version, are also delicious. Due to the fate of shooting in 8mm, not all songs are full, but there are still 9 songs and about 40 minutes. This is a volume almost comparable to “LIVE! GO FOR WHAT YOU KNOW”. A masterpiece video that evokes the “other side” of the official version and allows you to enjoy PAT TRAVERS BAND in its heyday Live at Warnors Theater, Fresno, CA, USA 15th November 1978 AMAZING SHOT!!! 1.
