Description
From the tour from July to November 1982 during which PMG was recording for their first live album “Travels”, which shows their true potential only in live performances, newly discovered new masters were released in Pittsburgh and Kansas in July. Introducing a 4-disc set that completely records the two performances in the city, both in the highest quality sound! ! ! Of course, the huge tour that a popular rock band would be able to perform, holding hundreds of performances a year, is tough on the performers, but their popularity and ability to attract customers through album sales is outstanding, and they are quite impressive in every respect. This is a privilege granted only to select artists, which is impossible unless they meet strict conditions. The Pat Metheny Group in the early 1980s was a rare presence in the world of jazz/fusion, which is said to be small in scale compared to the rock world, which has a wide market, and reached this privileged territory. Formed in the late 1970s, PMG spent most of each year on road tours (live shows), and their wonderful performances spread through word of mouth, gradually increasing their audience, and by 1982 they were performing 80 shows a year in the United States alone. We played a live performance. From this U.S. tour, PMG’s first live album, “Travels,” which was conspicuous and won a Grammy Award, was compiled to an hour and a half, which is shorter than the actual performance time. The band consisted of Metheny, Lyle Mays on keyboards, Steve Rodby on bass, Dan Gottlieb on drums, and Nana Vasconcelos on percussion/vocals. From the 1982 U.S. tour that had the momentum to knock down flying birds, the July 13 performance at the Pittsburgh Stanley Theater and the Kansas City Midland Center performance one week later were both newly discovered new masters. An outrageous 4-disc set has arrived that was completely recorded for more than 2 hours on the highest quality stereo sound board that has been carefully mastered by the label! ! !
