Description
This is the first release of the PMG title, a superb high-quality complete version of the early 1979 Hempstead performance, which was officially recorded but only partially released until now! ! The still popular “original” Pat Metheny Group, consisting of Metheny, Lyle Mays, Dan Gottlieb, and Mark Egan, was officially formed and produced their second album. Immediately after the completion of the masterpiece “American Garage” which was recorded in July 1979 and released in February 1980, which was Metheny’s first Grammy award, the group went on a US tour before the release of the album. This is a two-disc set that contains the complete recording of the November 17, 1979 performance at the Hofstra Playhouse in Hempstead, New York, which was officially recorded and had previously only been released on a compilation album, over the course of nearly two hours on a superb high-quality stereo soundboard that has been carefully mastered by the label.
