This is the best live recording of the Pat Metheny Group. You can enjoy a live performance from 1977, the year before the debut album was released by ECM, on a soundboard. Metheny’s guitar dances lightly in the air, wrapped in the glittering piano of Mace, with a rhythm that races with superb technique. The groove that is tightly in sync is overwhelming. Although it is a soundboard, the original sound was quite muffled and it could not be said to be of high quality as it is, but careful remastering has unearthed the buried guitar, and the sound quality has been raised to a clear level that even boot beginners can enjoy.
