Description
Two of the most amazing performances by the Pat Metheny Group in their heyday, who moved from ECM to Geffen, established their own production company, released the masterpieces “Still Life” and “Letter from Home” in succession, won a Grammy, and achieved worldwide success, are now available for the first time! ! PMG made a further leap with the album “Letter from Home”, won a Grammy, and reached the peak of their heyday with a momentum that could take down any bird in flight. Two performances at the Zenith in La Villette, Paris, France on March 2, 1988 and December 10, 1989 have been recorded in full, including the encore, over 2 to 2.5 hours, in superb high-quality stereo sound with careful mastering by the label itself. ! PMG’s 1988 year will begin with a European tour starting in February. This Zenit concert, which started in France in March, features the same lineup as in 1987, with a stronger PMG sound, and you can enjoy the strongest stage that won the Grammy Award for Best Performance that year. Most of the famous songs from “Still Life” such as “Last Train Home” and “Third Wind” that are still popular among fans are played, plus “Phase Dance”, “First Circle”, “Are You Going With Me”, and the earliest performance of the title song of the next album “Letter from Home”, as well as the strongest set list that seems to be a culmination of PMG up to that point. The same Pat, Lyle Mays, Steve Rodby, Paul Watico, Armando Marsal, Mark Redford, and David Braymeyers as the album “Still Life” are united in a perfect performance!
