Description

I can only boast that “this is my masterpiece.” It’s an amazing recording. The amazing series “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” dominated the conversation in the collector world in 2020. The PiL edition, which is regarded as its masterpiece, is now available. Although there hasn’t been any momentum lately, “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” was definitely the eye of the typhoon in the first half of 2020. Movement restrictions due to the new coronavirus pandemic have swept the world, and in order to overcome this, we have released a series of exquisite audience recordings. The collection was recorded in the Chicago area in the early 1980s, and the sound was so direct that it was hard to believe it was an audience recording, and the fact that most of the songs appeared for the first time created a huge buzz. It was originally titled “A COVID-19 QUARANTINE RELEASE!”, and contrary to the general image of “COVID-19 = virus”, collectors are imagining “a super-excellent audience from the early 1980s”. It is so pervasive. This work is the latest work of such “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION”. This is a superb audience recording of the “October 23, 1982 Chicago performance” which the recording person himself announced with the tag “Personal Favorite!!”. He boasts, “This is my masterpiece,” and the sound of this work is…excellent. The uniqueness of this recording artist is the sense of close contact with no sense of distance and the extremely thick core. This work shows off his individuality to the fullest. Normally, I would look for evidence of a guest record, saying, “The sound of ○○ sounds like an audience, but…”, but with this work, I can’t find it even if I listen carefully with headphones. Although it certainly absorbs the vivid enthusiasm of the scene, this level is common in radio broadcasts of the type that mix the microphone sound directed toward the audience, and the extremely thick performance sound drowns it out. The recorder himself has made it public, and his past achievements. Combined with that, it is a transcendent sound that can finally be convinced that “If that “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION” is a guest record…”. What is depicted with such a super direct sound is Keith Levin’s last passionate performance. The bassist has been replaced by Pete Jones, but speaking of the stage from the Keith era, the standard is the traditional record “PARIS AU PRINTEMPS”. Let’s compare and organize them here.・Public Image: Annalisa (★) / Attack / Religion (★) / Public Image (★) / Low Life ・Metal Box: Bad Baby / Chant / Death Disco (★) ・Flowers of Romance: Under the House (★)・This Is What You Want: Where Are You? (★)/Bad Life (★) *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on “PARIS AU PRINTEMPS”. …and it looks like this. Although there are a lot of “★”, there are actually only 4 songs that overlap with “PARIS AU PRINTEMPS”. In addition to “Under the House,” which was a new song at the time, they even performed the “THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT… THIS IS WHAT YOU GET” number. You can listen to “Where Are You?” and “Bad Life” with Keith’s guitar. To be more specific, “Public Image,” “Death Disco,” and “Where Are You?” are numbers that cannot be heard even on “LIVE IN TOKYO” after Keith left. “HOT OFF THE HEADS PRODUCTION”, which shocked collectors around the world, is a masterpiece that he himself declares to be his “best work.” It is a cultural heritage piece that allows you to experience the final show of the Keith era with a transcendent sound that makes even the distinction between sound board / audience meaningless. As intended by the recorder, this is a masterpiece that will make you forget even the pain of the pandemic. Granada Theatre, Chicago, IL, USA 23rd October 1982 ULTIMATE SOUND!! (68:11) 01. Intro 02.
