Description

“BLIZZARD OF OZZ TOUR” traveled around the world with my forever friend Randy Rhoads. The master who conveys the scene is a shocking new discovery. What is permanently preserved in this work is the “June 27, 1981 Long Beach” performance. This is an exquisite audience recording. Although the recording of this show has been known for a long time, this work is neither a copy nor a remastered reissue. A new master recently discovered. It is a full-length version of 64 minutes, which is significantly increased from the previous master of about 58 minutes. Of course, quality is more important than length, but first of all, the show position. Please check the current schedule. 1980《“BLIZZARD OF OZZ” released on September 12》・September 3-November 8: UK (37 performances) 1981《Bob/Lee changed to Rudy/Tommy》・April 22-7 August 29: North America #1a (61 performances) ←★Coco★・August 1: HM HOLOCAUST appearance・August 2-September 13: North America #1b (33 performances)《November 7 “DIARY OF A MADMAN” released》 November 1st – December 2nd: Europe (11 performances) [Lindsay Bridgewater → Don Airey replaced》 December 30th + 31st: North America #2a (2 performances) 1982・January 1st – March 18th: North America #2b (44 performances) [Randy Rhoads passed away on March 19th] This was Ozzy’s early solo career with Randy. Among them, the main tour was “North America #1a”, which had an incomparable number of performances compared to the other legs. The Long Beach performance of this work was the 42nd concert. As mentioned above, the record of such a show has been known for a long time, but this work updates its highest peak. The length alone is revolutionary, but the sound is also at its highest peak. The clear view is especially wonderful, and the vivid contours of the performance are delivered straight to your fingertips. Speaking of the US tour in the summer of 1981, there were many historical recordings such as the masterpieces “PALLADIUM 1981 1ST SHOW” and “NASSAU COLISEUM 1981″. Therefore, although it cannot be easily declared as “Tour No. 1”, it can be asserted that it is not inferior at all. It’s a wonderful vintage sound. Moreover, in this work, the new excavation master is further brushed up. Of course, we do not do any imitation that would spoil the natural sound of the original sound. While preserving such “truth” to the maximum extent possible, we strive for “ease of listening” and “completeness as a musical work.” For example, pitch. The original sound was off by about 70% by a semitone overall, and there were also changes here and there. This work dispels that sense of instability. The “sounds of the scene” that the master was present are reproduced as accurately as possible. What is drawn with such a sound is a full show that is even hotter than the previous masterpieces. At our store, we have introduced many masterpiece live albums from the Randy era, but this work is one of the most historic works among them. One of the reasons for this is the venue “Long Beach Arena”. There are many iconic venues in America, and this venue is one of them. Just like “Madison Square Garden” and “The Spectrum” on the East Coast, playing here is a traditional large venue that means “success on the West Coast.” Of course, Ozzy has been layered many times at “Long Beach Arena” since the BLACK SABBATH era, but this work has a different meaning. Like the latter half, “North America #1″, which started in the spring, was originally a venue for 3,000 people, but now it has stepped up to a venue for 10,000 people. “Singularity” became a successful milestone performance. In fact, even after Jake joined, “Long Beach Arena” performances were held, and continuous performances for several days became commonplace. However, I will only be with Randy for this one day. Moreover, the content is hot. It is not a show of a “successful person” in later years, but you can feel the momentum of a broken bamboo who is running up the stairs to success right now. The entire live show is filled with the band’s energy, and the audience’s excitement fills the venue. In fact, Ozzy, who is contained in this work, is explosive from the beginning! From “I Don’t Know”, which starts right away, you can feel the greatness of the sound. Despite the size of the venue, the core of the performance was clearly felt and the thick sound was as vivid as a line sound source. Two months after the start of the tour, the band’s performance has become integrated, and the rhythm section of Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo is also extremely powerful. Not to mention “Mr. Crowley” where Randy’s dramatic play and beautiful melody intertwine, but also the heavy “Believer” and “Suicide Solution”…it’s just a continuous listen. And the biggest highlight of the live performance will be the BLACK SABBATH number “Iron Man” and “Children Of The Grave” medley. The dynamism of the scene where Ozzy praises the fans in the venue in response to the cheers that rise at the moment he calls out, “The next song we’re going to play is Black Sabbath.” And Ozzy’s call and response of “One! Two! Three!!” with the audience was so powerful that it shook the arena! The band’s captivating performance and explosive power that day clearly surpassed TRIBUTE’s Cleveland performance. The closing scene after the performance of “Paranoid” where the cheers never stopped. This is the moment when Ozzy stood at the “Long Beach Arena” and achieved solo success. It is probably a moment that Ozzy himself would have cherished. In 2020, 40 years have passed since this show. Even after so much time has passed, Ozzy and Randy still play music that retains its fresh brilliance. This is a newly discovered live album that will remind you of this fact with fresh real sounds. This is the place where music that will never lose its luster was born. Live at Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA, USA 27th June 1981 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) (63:58) 1.
