This is interesting! This is the appearance of a rare live album in Ozzy history!! This work was recorded when he appeared at “VOODOO EXPERIENCE 2015” held on “October 30, 2015”. When you think of Ozzy in recent years, tours with BLACK SABBATH come to mind, but after finishing his world tour in July last year, he has also held solo performances sporadically. Let’s briefly summarize it here.・July 4, 2014: Last day of Sabbath’s tour ・August 9, 2014: South Korea performance ・April 25 – May 2, 2015: South American version of MOR4 performance ・October 31, 2015: VOODOO EXPERIENCE 2015 [This work]・November 22, 2015: OZZFEST JAPAN 2015・January 20, 2016: First day of Sabbath’s “THE END” tour…In this way, Sabbath’s solo performances during their large-scale tour It’s a total of 7 times. Of these, 5 concerts in South Korea and South America were regular solo band concerts, but this work’s “VOODOO EXPERIENCE 2015” and the upcoming “OZZFEST JAPAN 2015” are the only two performances this year under the name OZZY & FRIENDS. As the name suggests, the highlight is the gorgeous co-starring, and this work features Geezer Butler, Tom Morello, and Slash. The show’s composition is broadly “5 solo songs + 7 Sabbath songs + 2 solo songs + encore,” and it starts with “I Don’t Know” by the regular band centered on Gus G. Gus G, who joined in 2009, has been with the group for 6 years this year, but Ozzy has been active in BLACK SABBATH, so it feels like it’s been a while. However, since Gus G was originally known as a master player, he suddenly exploded with advanced play. It has a sense of stability that makes no difference to blanks. A guest appears as early as the second song. Two consecutive songs, “Mr. Crowley” and “Bark At The Moon” featuring Tom Morello from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. To be honest, this “Mr. Crowley” is the biggest highlight of this work! It is a masterpiece among the famous songs that have been played by many guitar heroes, but the Morello version of this work is one of the most unique. The guitar oblivion runs throughout the song like you’ve never heard it before! The guitar is a twin guitar with Gus G, and Gus plays well while respecting the original, but in the second half of the guitar solo where Morello comes to the front, the mysterious sound (apparently like a toothpick) has a huge impact. Is that freedom the biggest change since Brad Gillis and Jake E. Lee? If you think about it, the regulars from Zakk Wylde onwards have had such a deep respect for Randy Rhoads that they haven’t changed the songs with their fierce individuality. Perhaps because Morello was only a guest, he was able to make such drastic changes. The following “Bark At The Moon” also has a powerful Morello song. Gus G performs the final solo as per the original, but Morello does whatever he wants in the middle. It would be easy to get angry and say, “Are you trying to tarnish a famous song?”, but he is only a guest who will only participate in two performances. I would like to enjoy the rare version during the Japanese performance. On the contrary, the big old man who is doing everything he can is doing the dirty work…I can’t help but think of words that shouldn’t be said. However, even the brilliance of it is nothing short of slippery. The borderline pleasurable feeling of something tickling running down your spine may have reached the level of entertainment. Then, the regular band’s “Rat Salad” jam led to Sabbath time. In addition to Morello with a drum solo in between, Giza? and Slash also appeared, and it was “Iron Man” and “N.I.B.” replaced by “Friends Band”. “Iron Man” progresses in a calm manner, but the middle solo is full of slash music, and the solo towards the end is full of morello music. In “N.I.B.,” the order is reversed, with the middle solo being Morello and the final solo being Slash. Here too, the slash mark doesn’t look out of place, and the Morello is dynamic. If Morello were to join us as a regular member, it would probably be a really interesting live show (though he’s likely to be disliked by older fans). After that, Sabbath classics from “Snowblind” to “Fairies Wear Boots” were “regular band + Geezer”, “I Don’t Want To Change The World” to “Mama, I’m Coming Home” were “regular band”, The last one is “Paranoid” where everyone gathers. In any case, the highlight of this work is Tom Morello. Slash also plays a very “typical” guitar, but he also participated in the “OZZY & FRIENDS TOUR” in 2012, so to be honest, it felt so natural that it didn’t feel special. On the other hand, Morello lets you listen to the adventures of WHITESNAKE’s Steve Vai and DIO’s Tracy G. At the upcoming OZZFEST JAPAN 2015, Slash will be replaced by Dave Navarro of JANE’S ADDICTION / RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. It is certain that it will be a stage that is “not just an Ozzy solo”. Although the cancellation of BLACK SABBATH is sad, we will be able to see a once-in-a-lifetime rare live performance. This is a live album that will immediately raise your expectations. Of course, it is recommended as a preparation for those who are going to OZZFEST JAPAN, but more than that, it is a must-listen for those who are thinking, “If it’s not Sabbath, then it’s crazy.” Do you think, “Don’t be kidding!” or “This is so funny!” Before making your final decision, please ask yourself this question in your heart. with Slash, Tom Morello & Geezer Butler City Park Festival Grounds, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA 31st October 2015 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1(44:47) 1.
