Description
The newly discovered source released this time as “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD” has been recorded stably and at a high level among the audience sources of the same period, and its balance of brightness and performance has been known among traders until now. It was better than the sound source of the same day. However, there is no doubt that the existing live tape is also an important record of that day, and as you can see from the fact that it perfectly compensated for the gaps in the main part in terms of sound quality, it was forgotten as if its “role was over”. It’s a shame that this material is lost. Therefore, as a special project, we have decided to completely remaster another audience recording used to fill in the missing parts of HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD’s “Revelation (Mother Earth)” and release it as a special item. I did. You can enjoy Ozzy’s first Hammersmith performance in his solo career from a different perspective and texture from HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD! In contrast to “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD,” which had an excellent outlook like a DAT recording, this sound source is a monaural recording with an analog feel. It is second to none in its well-balanced vocals. The sound image that feels closer to the stage also has a direct feel. If you are used to live tapes, it is no wonder that you prefer the original sound source, it is an excellent source. With Ozzy’s singing voice at the forefront, you can enjoy the wonderful power of “Looking At You, Looking At Me” and “Crazy Train”, which has a sound structure in which the band presses together as one. The guitar solo and drum solo that follow “Suicide Solution” are focused on the sound, so you can concentrate on the performance of the main player, and you will be able to listen to Ozzy’s singing and Randy’s guitar more clearly. The SABBATH medley of “Iron Man” and “Paranoid”, in which Randy’s guitar roars and Lee’s drums play vigorously, seems to have a heaviness that rivals the original SABBATH. The band’s sense of unity that can be heard on “Steal Away” seems to support Bob’s words in an interview, “They were like a smoothly running machine.” After this Hammersmith performance, they completed a 29-concert tour for over a month until the end of October, and their first album “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” rose to number 7 on the UK charts. Ozzy made a stunning solo debut. After this, they began work on their second album, “DIARY OF A MADMAN”, with the same band composition, and by March 1981, the recording and finishing work was carried out quickly, but at this point Lee and Bob The band was fired and replaced with a new lineup featuring Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo. From then on, the band went on a US tour as a complete “Ozzy solo” and caused a sensation in the American rock scene. This sound source entertains Ozzy Osbourne as an early “band” in a high-quality form, and the sound contained here is as valuable as “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD”.
