Description

From OZZY OSBOURNE’s 1986 UK tour accompanying the release of “THE ULTIMATE SIN,” a 3-disc set will be released that includes two live performances packaged with the highest quality audience sources! Directly using the original cassette master recorded by the famous taper Crazy S., this is a must-listen for fans, allowing them to relive Ozzy’s live performances from the Jake era in the best possible way! Metal fans agree that OZZY OSBOURNE is the “King of Heavy Metal”. Because that image is so strong, people tend to think that he was already the “emperor” in 1980, when he left BLACK SABBATH and started a solo career with Randy Rhoads. However, it was during Jake E. Lee’s tenure that Ozzy truly became worthy of the name “Emperor”, not only musically, but also commercially, and with a name value known to everyone. If I were to narrow it down further, I’d say it was 1986, when they had a hit album and song, and even headlined Donnington’s “Monsters of Rock.” In addition to the official video footage of the 1986 “THE ULTIMATE SIN” tour, there are various excellent audience recordings from the American tour and performances in Japan, and this is the era when fans can enjoy Jake’s era the most. Among them, “KILLER OF LEICESTER” and “NEVER KNOW WHY” were praised by enthusiasts as “one of the best titles in the audience recording of Ozzy in 1986.” This time, we will be using the original cassette masters recorded by Crazy S. directly again, remastering them to bring out the quality of the materials, and recording them on 3 CDs! This is a permanent, vacuum-packed version of Ozzy’s live performance at the time, which was full of the tailwind of the L.A. metal movement and put on gorgeous and flashy performances, with a freshness that drips with moisture! Ozzy’s 1986 UK tour started on February 12th, and RATT, who was at the time of the release of “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY”, was appointed as the opening act, and ended with the final performance on March 4th at Bruford for 15 performances (including the last tour in Ireland). Including the tour, a total of 19 performances were completed. On discs 1 and 2 of this work, you can enjoy the 12th performance, which was held on February 27th at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall. In this Nottingham performance, Mr. Crazy S. is turning the equipment from the undercard, and the good sound quality is as proven by RATT’s “INVASION OF BRITISH PRIVACY”. Ozzy’s “main stage” that was left on that master tape has been (naturally) an excellent recording that is on par with the RATT sound source. From the opening songs “Carl Orff “Carmina Burana” and “Bark At The Moon” that signal the beginning of the show, you can enjoy not only a clear sound outlook, but also good separation and a close atmosphere that takes advantage of the venue’s acoustics, and an exquisite feeling. The live show unfolds with a sense of distance and a wonderful sound quality that can only be described as “excellent” in all aspects. In particular, the sense of realism reproduced with outstanding tape freshness is amazing. The entire venue sings Ozzy at the end of “Bark At The Moon,” and the mood of the audience is lifted by the majestic intro of “Mr. Crowley,” and the flavor that only comes from the finest ingredients is dripping vividly! Of course, the remastering has improved the sharpness of the sound and the edge of the contour, and it is even easier to listen to than the previous release. Jake’s flashy and sharp guitar is a big highlight of this period. “Mr. Crowley,” which has hidden aggression within its beauty, “Shot In The Dark,” which is melodic and flowing, and “Killer Of Giants,” which is heroic and courageous, are simply amazing songs and solos. This recording will thoroughly entertain you, with detailed details such as Jake’s skillful techniques and proper use of equipment. Furthermore, Ozzy’s high-tension performance exploded with “Secret Loser”, “Iron Man”, and “Crazy Train”. At the moment of closing the encore “Paranoid”, the explosion of the pyro is captured realistically (to the extent that it is truly surprising). All listeners will feel like they are one of the audience members, and will be able to fully enjoy the entire 80-minute live performance. Disc 3 contains approximately 75 minutes of the Leicester performance on March 3rd, which is also known for the masterpiece “KILLER OF LEICESTER”. This recording was one of the best at the 1986 live show in terms of sound quality, but the sound has been further refined, and the ease of listening and clarity surpasses even a poor sound board. Listeners will be surprised by the realistic pyro explosion sound when they play the disc! From that “Carmina Burana”, Ozzy is in high spirits and shows off his strong performance with “Bark At The Moon”, “Suicide Solution” and “Never Know Why”. Not only Ozzy, but the band also played excellently on this day, with Jake’s sharp guitar sound cutting through the space, and Randy Castillo’s drums reverberating ultra-clearly with a three-dimensional tone, etc., during the first half of the live show. It will overwhelm all listeners. “Shot In The Dark” also has Phil Susan’s bass and John Sinclair’s keyboard in the intro very clear. The guitar solos are also great to listen to! From the middle of the live onwards, new songs from “THE ULTIMATE SIN” and Ozzy’s representative songs are taken up almost alternately, giving the listener a continuous sense of excitement. It goes without saying that classic numbers such as “I Don’t Know” and “Flying High Again” where Jake’s sensitivity has sharpened the songs are the best. In addition, new songs from “THE ULTIMATE SIN” such as “Thank God For The Bomb” and “Secret Loser” have a cutting edge and a catchy, catchy feel that will comfortably immerse the listener in the live performance. At the climax, “Iron Man”, “Crazy Train”, and the encore “Paranoid”, numbers that “can’t end unless played” are repeated, and the song continues to heat up until the ending (it is used as B.G.M. in the outro after the performance). You can also check out “Goodbye To Romance”)! At the live show on this UK tour, Ozzy was promoting “See you at Castle Donington!” throughout the MC, suggesting that he had been thinking about August’s “Monsters of Rock” for about half a year. Masu. The band’s performance makes you feel highly motivated for the summer’s big stage, and a number of excellent songs…This “THE ULTIMATE SIN” tour is truly the peak of Ozzy in the ’80s. You can see that it was a live performance worthy of the name “Emperor”. This work, which includes one of the best live sources packaged into three discs, is definitely a must-listen for all Ozzy fans!
