Description
Ozzy Osbourne returned to active duty in 1995, welcoming Joe Holmes as his new partner. A full pro-shot recording of this precious era is set to be released. This work was filmed at the “September 8, 1995 Santiago Performance.” This is a multi-camera pro-shot recording. Holmes’ time, during which he was unable to release a studio album, was actually a long reign of five and a half years. This is a good opportunity to take a bird’s-eye view and examine the position of this work. 1995: Alex Skolnick auditioned. June 9: Nottingham performance. Skolnick was rejected, Joe Holmes joined. August 19–December 31 (46 shows). ←★here★ 1996 (118 shows), 1997 (23 shows), 1998: Holmes replaced by Zakk Wylde. February 12–March 5 (11 shows). Zakk replaced Holmes. May 23–August 2 (23 shows). 1999: None. 2000 (32 shows). Joe Holmes left to record DOWN TO EARTH. This is Ozzy Osbourne during his time with Joe Holmes. Ozzy produced “Ozzmosis” with Zakk Wylde, but was fired when Zakk wanted to join Guns N’ Roses. Although they held a secret gig, which also served as an audition for Alex Skolnick, they were not hired and ultimately decided on Joe Holmes, formerly of DAVID LEE ROTH/LIZZY BORDEN. Holmes’ tour began in August 1996. This Santiago performance was the sixth concert immediately after. Our standard pro-shot compilation, “LUSTRUM OF HOLMES,” also includes a pro-shot from the Sao Paulo performance, but this work was recorded two performances later (six days later). This work, which conveys such a show, is the best existing master. While the analog feel is undeniable due to the 1990s TV broadcast, there are no traces of the rough dubbing that was ubiquitous in South America, and there is no white line noise. While it is hesitant to tout this as “completely official grade!” by modern standards in the heyday of digital, there is no doubt that it is the highest peak I have ever seen. Such beautiful visuals depict the precious full show from the Joe Holmes era. The aforementioned “LUSTRUM OF HOLMES” was a compilation of two shorter broadcasts, but this one is a long, pro-shot recording of about 100 minutes. There are no overlapping songs, and you can enjoy a plethora of classic tracks. Let’s compare and organize them here. Blizzard of Oz (5 songs): I Don’t Know / Goodbye to Romance (★) / Suicide Solution / Mr. Crowley / Crazy Train No More Tears (4 songs): Desire / No More Tears / I Don’t Want to Change the World / Mama, I’m Coming Home Others (8 songs): Other solos: I Just Want You / Flying High Again (★) / Bark At The Moon Sabbath: Paranoid / Sabbath Bloody Sabbath / Iron Man / Sweet Leaf (★) / Children of the Grave (★) *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs not seen in the classic pro-shot recording of “LUSTRUM OF HOLMES.” …And so on. The rare track “I Just Want You” from “Ozzmosis” is also eye-catching, but even more impressive is the generous selection of Black Sabbath numbers. In 1995, Sabbath was gaining popularity, but a full-scale reunion hadn’t yet materialized. As a result, Ozzy’s solo album is packed with Sabbath numbers. “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,” a signature song he never sang in the ’70s, is a particularly delicious track. And above all, Joe Holmes’ style permeates the entire album. At the time, his background as a Randy Rhoads disciple garnered attention, but his unique blend of Zack and his influences is unique, transforming every track, including Sabbath, into his own unique style. Despite his long reign that surpassed even Jake and Zack’s, the Joe Holmes era lacked any official albums, even looking back on it now. This is the ultimate master version of a full, professionally shot recording that will soothe your thirst. With Ozzy’s entire career in the spotlight, this is a hidden gem that’s definitely worth experiencing. This rare full-length pro-shot from the Joe Holmes era has been released. This DVD was made from the best existing masters, and the visuals are stunning, unlike anything broadcast in South America. Enjoy a wealth of classic songs transformed by Holmes.
