Description

The Jake E. Lee era that elevated Ozzy Osbourne to a “metal icon”. One piece that completes the often-overlooked soundboard collection is decided to be released. Ozzy’s Jake era was truly a “revolutionary era”. He doesn’t seem to have as much feelings for him as his friend Iommi on stilts, his fateful Randy, or his longtime partner Zack, but the world perceives him differently. Jake’s scratchy guitar perfectly fit the image of a new music with the strange name of “heavy metal”, and combined with Ozzy’s appearance and performance, he hit the world with a level that “even the old ladies around here can understand”. This “ease of understanding” is Ozzy’s true value, and is the greatest achievement of Jake’s era, which is different from the Randy era and Zack era.He is a true “metal icon”, comparable to JUDAS PRIEST, who invented “leather & studs”. It was that. Ozzy from the Jake era truly changed history, but his professional record collection is surprisingly unorganized. In the “Crime and Punishment” era, a single copy of the super-definitive edition “KANSAS CITY 1986 COMPLETE” was enough, but in the “Howl at the Moon” era, official pro shots and excavated soundboards were all over the place, and even enthusiasts thought, “I was able to complete it.” I’m at a loss. This is where this work appears. Although it is a powerful soundboard from the “Howl at the Moon” era, it is a collection of two masterpiece records that tend to be overlooked if you only focus on long-form items. This work includes soundboard recordings of “April 26, 1984 Montreal Performance” and “August 18, 1984 Donington Performance”. To organize your collection, check out the soundboard/pro shots from the “Howl at the Moon” era here. ●May 29, 1983 “US FESTIVAL’83: THE COMPLETE SOUNDBOARD” December 17th + 18th: DORTMUND FESTIVAL (Proshot: 6 songs) ●March 18, 1984 “BARK AT THE MOON: SALT LAKE 1984 (DVD)”・April 26: Montreal performance ←★First half of this work★・June 29: “DEFINITIVE BARKS”・July 6: “BARK AT THE TOKYO”・August 18: MONSTERS OF ROCK performance ←★Last half of this work★ ●January 19, 1985 “ROCK IN RIO 1985 (Full Pro Shots)” This is a number of soundboard/pro shots from the “Howl at the Moon” era. Starting with the official video “BARK AT THE MOON”, the shocking complete version “US FESTIVAL’83: THE COMPLETE SOUNDBOARD” that will appear this week, the leaked soundboards “DEFINITIVE BARKS” and “BARK AT THE TOKYO” from the Japanese performance, and the traditional ” ROCK IN RIO 1985” and other long works are lined up. This work is a live album that couples two types of soundboards that are often overlooked. Now, let’s introduce each one individually. [First half: April 26, 1984: Montreal performance] First up is the rarest soundboard recording from the “Howl at the Moon” era. Actually, it is a leaked soundboard recording that was discovered this year. Although it is short with 4 songs “Suicide Solution”, “Paranoid”, “Bark at the Moon” and “Crazy Train”, the sound quality is superb. of course. Although it is not a well-organized mix like the official work, it is the highest quality of the outflow type where the performance and singing voice itself invades the brain directly without hearing the cheers. Even more powerful than the sound is the performance itself. Anyway, Ozzy, who is the key, is so worn out that I have never heard it before. Judging from the opening song, “Suicide Solution,” the song starts singing before the intro riff ends, and then stops when you feel like, “Oh no!” However, even after the intro was over and it was time for the song to begin, the vocals did not come in and only the backing continued. After that, the song starts to sing at the appropriate timing, but even after that, it doesn’t follow the song’s progress, and it ends up being mostly an instrumental version. “Actually, it’s a studio demo at the preliminary singing stage?” I think, but the guitar you hear is Jake, and Ozzy also calls his name, so it’s definitely a live performance. The three songs that follow that tattered “Suicide Solution” don’t improve at all. Although it wasn’t so bad that he lost track of the song’s progress, his singing voice was so abrasive during the performance that it would have been dangerous. In fact, this show is a rehearsal-like club gig for “MONTREAL FORUM” the next day, and Ozzy may be getting drunk easily, but it’s still terrible…. It may be a shame that it is not talked about despite its short length of 4 songs and its transcendent sound quality. [Second half: August 18, 1984: Donington performance] Following such a Montreal performance is the FM sound board of the big stage “MONSTERS OF ROCK”. This is a sound board that everyone knows, but it has 6 songs: “I Don’t Know,” “Mr. Crowley,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebel,” “Bark At The Moon,” and “Revelation (Mother Earth )” and “Steal Away (The Night),” which did not become a standard due to their shortness, and are now forgotten soundboard recordings. Of course, the quality is sufficient since it is a big stage FM broadcast, and although it is difficult to say that it is “official grade”, the mix and performance are excellent. In particular, Ozzy’s singing is completely different from the Montreal performance. Actually, it’s “as usual”, but Montreal is so bad that it almost feels like a super vocalist. Ozzy Osbourne of the “Howl at the Moon” era defined the concept of “heavy metal” along with his junior from Birmingham, JUDAS PRIEST. A piece that completes such a historical soundboard collection.
