Description

The footage from Oasis’ first performance in Japan to the third day in Shibuya is recorded from a cassette tape that has never been circulated among traders or on the internet. Regarding this day, a CD called “WHEN I WAS YOUNGER” was released, but the sound image is not as close as the audience recording used there. However, this recording was performed in a very special environment, with recorders placed at tables on both sides of the venue. Because of this, the performance was on the right side and the left channel was mainly picking up the air conditioner sound, which was a strange situation. However, there is the advantage of recording from a table seat, and the voices of nearby audience members are hardly picked up, yet the contours of the performance to the right and Liam Gallagher’s singing voice are surprisingly clear considering the sound image is deep, and the sound is heard from the speakers. Sound quality that you can enjoy for minutes. On this day, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” was not yet included in the stage repertoire as it was in Nagoya (it would be played from the next day), and instead began with “Columbia” in the first half of 1994. It was the last day that the set list up to that point was performed. Also, compared to Nagoya, which was the last day of the tour, Liam’s voice has grown naturally, which is unique to the first half of the tour. Also, there is a partial video left on this day, and now I am surprised to see Liam singing with a child-like appearance, but his voice is also really youthful. After so much time has passed, I am reminded that the innocence of Oasis in 1994 was truly special. And before the start of Noel Gallagher’s singing corner, which was introduced from the Japan performance and became the anchor of the live performance, the call of “Noel!” is heartwarming. The next day’s “Big brother!” is legendary, but the scene where the call occurred on this day was also a very funny scene. After the performance, a woman said, “I’m happy because the Beatles played at the end,” which was very interesting. Oasis at that time was also a hot topic as a group that played “I Am The Walrus”. By the way, I heard that this tape was copied from a cassette recorded by a friend who accompanied him, so it is based on the so-called First Generation.
