Description

The 2002 tour was an impressive time when the album “HEATHEN CHEMISTRY” was in the spotlight and many items were created, but after the Japan performance, the number of items became extremely small, as it was then. Masu. This may be due to the fact that it was a time when the sound quality was poor, and more importantly, Liam’s voice was rough due to being at the mercy of a longer tour than the previous Oasis tour. However, if you listen to Liam’s best performance “BERLIN 2002 DAT MASTER” or “YOYOGI 2002 FIRST NIGHT DAT MASTER” which will be released this time at the beginning of the tour, it is mania that makes you want to listen to the subsequent stages. After the Japan performance, Oasis continued on to Australia to complete their Down Under schedule, and after two weeks off, the final leg of 2002 began, touring Europe and the UK. At the beginning of this final tour in 2002, the composition was the same as before, but Liam’s voice started to become rough, and “Some Might Say”, which had been arranged in a lower key for Liam at the time, was changed. First of all, it will no longer be played. In the end, the finale “My Generation” was not set. Because of this, the composition of the Spanish performance on November 19th was changed and ended with Noel’s “Don’t Look Back In Anger.” Three days later in Milan, a cover of “Hey Hey, My My” was pulled out, and from Pesaro the next day, “Acquiesce” became the finale. The next show after the Pesaro performance was in Zurich. Although the recording state is slightly limited, the sound image is close and the quality is easy to hear. That’s why Liam’s poor condition becomes noticeable from the beginning. Even in this condition, the part where he shouts out “Come on” in “Columbia” is painful, and the next “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” has Noel singing from the middle, and the signs of Liam’s poor condition are clear. As can be seen from the change in the set list, Noel was very active at this time to compensate for Liam’s poor performance, and before this “Stop Crying”, he made a mistake in the composition and played “Cigarettes”. & Alcohol” started playing the intro, which is a very unusual occurrence for this period, and you can even feel the feeling of excess momentum. In “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” Noel plays the Beatles’ “Day Tripper” riff in the middle and ending, which is an attractive arrangement unique to this period. The best part is his singing corner. Ryan Adams covered “Wonderwall” in America in August (partly because it’s a popular song in that country), which was a song he kept on hold at the beginning of his tour in 2002 because it was inspired by his ex-wife. They started playing again, following the arrangement of the version, but Noel, who did not want a chorus like before in Zurich, sang only at the beginning and canceled the performance. Instead, we’ll be playing a song that everyone can sing along to, which is a rare rendition of “Whatever.” From there, he started again with “Wonderwall,” but it ended up being a chorus, so he gave up on playing it, and in November, he returned to the repertoire for the first time in a while with Noel’s vocal arrangement, singing “Married With Children.” I finished the corner. It would have been a difficult sound source if it had only been a document of Liam’s poor condition, but it was chosen for this release because there was a very interesting development in Noel’s corner. In 2021, the few items that were released at the time have become completely difficult to obtain. It is a time when there are few items during the Oasis 2002 tour, and it is the day when they are playing the rare “Whatever”.
