Description
This year Oasis toured the UK for the first time from mid-September to the end of September. The masterpiece that was produced there was this Sheffield. After a short trip to the United States for promotional purposes, a European tour began in November. This was also a high-tension performance centered around Liam Gallagher in England, but it also exploded at Zenith Arena on the first day in France. This video was taken by one of the spectators from his seat in the stands. This Zenith Arena video has been famous among enthusiasts for a long time, but it seems that Liam was already drunk when he went on stage, and from the opening song “Be Here Now”, it was a bizarre song that even surpassed Sheffield. Screaming. That’s all well and good, but he jumps onto the support keyboard stage set that resembles a bar counter and goes wild. Oasis in 1997, like Sheffield, has many performances that have enough impact even if you listen to the sound alone, but when visuals are added to it, the impact increases. Anyway, Liam seems to be quite drunk, and his high tension shows no signs of stopping, as he even lets out a roar during the intro of “Stand By Me”, which would normally be impossible. Looking at the video, Liam seemed to be drinking beer during the live performance, so his excitement was probably rising with the help of alcohol. Because of this, he kicks the microphone away when Liam finishes singing, but perhaps Rhodey was aware of Liam’s drunkenness that day, and doesn’t come to fix it even when Liam kicks the microphone away. So Liam himself has been repairing the microphone many times, but finally after “Live Forever” Liam staggers and falls while trying to fix the microphone. He looks just like a comedian, and you can’t help but laugh out loud. By the way, Liam seemed to be drinking while Noel was singing the two songs, and I think that’s why he staggered. In addition, in the famous song “Don’t Go Away”, which was sung after those two songs and which has been released not long after their live debut, there are parts where the rhythm seems to be lost, and the next song “Wonderwall” is also the same. And at the end of the live performance, there was a long song that Liam would have had too much time for, but as expected, he showed off his arrogance. Just as he was about to get off the stage, he ended up moving the clock hands on the “BE HERE NOW” stage set. The best part is that after the first guitar riff of “Champagne Supernova” was over, the world-famous Liam Gallagher brothers were sitting cross-legged on stage and singing into a handheld microphone (!). In the end, he sexually harasses Noel on stage. There aren’t many one-camera audience shots from the late 1990s that aren’t as boring as this one. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a series of highlights, and it is a video that symbolizes the unbridled and high-tension 1997 tour. At the end, Liam, the main character, goes down to the audience seats and does not return to the stage, but is escorted out by security and is a masterpiece of an ending. For that reason, there are videos that can be viewed online, but many of them have some kind of problem, such as versions that have been split or cropped to the screen size and the screen is distorted horizontally. Therefore, this time we have adopted the version without the tricks that has been circulating among traders in the past, and recorded the masterpiece video that captures Liam doing whatever he wants in the best condition. (This is a rare video with many funny scenes, such as Liam Gallagher playing a prank on his brother while drunk, and singing with his legs crossed unlike usual at Champagne Supernova.)
