Oasis/Denmark 2008 Upgrade

In 2008, the first year of the tour after the release of the last album “DIG OUT YOUR SOUL”, the aggressive promotion strategy was such that the warm-up before the tour started was broadcast on television, and throughout the year, they were blessed with professional shot footage and soundboard recordings. Among them, the famous sound source and performance was in Copenhagen on November 8th. On this day, there is a stereo soundboard recording of the highest quality broadcast from a local FM radio station. There is no way that such a good sound source will not be released, and the famous album released in real time is GODFATHER’s “PRAY FOR THE LIGHT”. Although it quickly reigned as one of the representative masterpieces of the 2008 tour, it was released more than 10 years ago. In the end, it was not released and has remained until now. Therefore, “PRAY FOR ~” continued to be the best title. Such “PRAY FOR ~” was not without problems. First of all, since it was GODFATHER, the broadcast was not made into a CD, and the hard and flashy equalization typical of the label was added. However, since it was a broadcast in the digital age, such processing was not bad. Also, “PRAY FOR~” cut out all the announcements that were included during the broadcast, but this is a tricky one. You would think that the announcements would be made in between broadcasts, in scenes that are unrelated to the live performance, but the announcements appear during the live performance. “To Be Where There’s Life” was good, with no MC and only the SE playing before the performance began, but in “The Masterplan”, Noel’s MC can be heard behind the announcement, and even immediately after the performance of “Morning Glory” ended. “PRAY FOR~” cleverly cut out these scenes, but this had the disadvantage of cutting out Noel’s MC that was heard in “The Masterplan”, and in “Morning Glory”, the helicopter SE that was played every time after the performance was finished was cut out, which was quite strange. Of course, the 2008 Copenhagen radio broadcast to be released is not a simple copy of the GODFATHER version, but the complete version that captures all of those announcements without missing an inch. Certainly, if you listen to the announcements before the encore, it is true that there is a sense of incongruity in a language other than English, and it is understandable why the previous board cut it out beautifully. However, since the live scene was played even in the background of the announcement, it is natural that even if you are not a maniac, you will want to have the complete version of the broadcast. In addition, it is a stereo soundboard recording with very excellent sound quality, so there is no equalization like in the GODFATHER board, and you can enjoy the original sound of the refreshing broadcast, which is a high point. In addition, this broadcast has a phenomenon where noise sometimes enters the left channel, and the most notable of these was “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”. It is presumed that this was clearly a problem from the time of the broadcast at that time brought about by the technology of 2008, but they were deleted as much as possible. The originally high-level soundboard recording was further polished. And the wonderful performance content on this day was also a big point. First of all, Liam’s condition is very good, and his powerful singing is clear in every song. The sound quality is very good, so it sounds even more prominent. Liam’s appearance in 2008 was smart enough to tell the story, and he had few “bad days” due to his more restrained style during the tour than ever before. Even in such a year, he sang well from the opening to the finale of the live performance on this day, which also solidified the radio recording of this day. The performance of Noel and the band is also in a solid state two months after the start of the tour. In the first place, the “DIG OUT YOUR SOUL” tour had drummer Chris Sharrock joining the band and had created a stronger live sound than ever before, so the performance was even more powerful than at the beginning of the tour. The excitement of the audience was also wonderful, and Liam was right to call them “top crowd”. This is a great recording that captures the atmosphere of the venue and the strong performance unique to 2008 in an exquisite balance.
