Description
The legendary masterpiece “ACROSS AMERICA” that shines brilliantly in the history of NIRVANA bootlegs. That famous title has been reprinted digitally remastered. “ACROSS AMERICA” is truly a legendary piece. Even on collector sites around the world, it is a super-famous masterpiece that is still popular today, with rave reviews such as “one of the best bootlegs” and “highly recommended to all collectors”. Even now, if the original appears at an auction, it is traded at a high price of tens of thousands of yen. This work is a reprint of that masterpiece, meticulously mastered. There are two performances on this masterpiece. The main performance is the super-famous recording “Miami performance on November 27, 1993”. It is a two-disc set that adds the superb stereo sound board of “Atlanta performance on May 6, 1990”. Although the two sound sources are from different eras and places, that is also the individuality of the masterpiece “ACROSS AMERICA”. The design shows the history, and this work has been reproduced as it is. Now, let’s introduce each performance. [Main: Miami performance on November 27, 1993] The main performance is the Miami performance of “IN UTERO TOUR”. It is the superb audience recording. NIRVANA, who released “IN UTERO”, started a US tour. After about 20 performances, they will appear on “MTV UNPLUGGED”. The Miami performance of this work was the “next” concert. And the biggest point is the extraordinary sound. In fact, it will be an audience recording by DAT, but it doesn’t sound like that at all. There is very little audience noise like a direct sound board connected to the table, a direct feeling with no sense of distance, a very thick core, and super clear details. It sounds like a sound board at all. It is also at the level of a finely polished official grade FM broadcast. In the second half of this work, a genuine soundboard recording is also included, but it is not inferior at all, but far surpasses it. In this work, such an ultimate recording is digitally mastered. Of course, we do not try to crush the superb sound with unrefined equalization. While maintaining the direct feeling and details of the original recording, each range from deep bass to treble is organized. The “lump feeling” of the original sound source is loosened and you can feel the “three-dimensional feeling”. At the end of the show, Kurt Cobain shouts “I’m Jimi Hendrix!!” in the roaring feedback, and the famous line can be heard even more clearly. Of course, the pitch, which was slightly out of sync even in “ACROSS AMERICA”, is accurately adjusted. We have realized the ultimate form of the ultimate recording. [Bonus: Atlanta performance on May 6, 1990] The next bonus is a soundboard recording of the Atlanta performance, which is too luxurious to be called a “bonus”. Although the opening “Love Buzz” is a cut-in, it is still a full recording of about 53 minutes. Of course, not only the length but also the sound quality is superb. It is a direct-connected soundboard that precedes the liveliness rather than “official class”, and the feeling when you hear it at a glance is like a studio demo. That’s why the guitar and bass jump directly into the brain, and the vividness is amazing, as if the head itself became the microphone itself. You can really immerse yourself in the immersive feeling of NIRVANA going wild in your brain. This work further masters such a superb soundboard. The sound, which was super vivid but somewhat flat in the original sound source, has been given depth. To put it in an analogy, while the original recording location sounded “like a studio”, this work gives the sound a presence of “being on stage”. The sound depicts NIRVANA, who are about to rewrite history. Recorded on May 6, 1990, just as the production of “NEVERMIND” had begun, this soundboard album is filled with the band’s potential to create a historic revolutionary work. NIRVANA had just started touring the US with their last original album “IN UTERO,” and NIRVANA was on the verge of “NEVERMIND.” “ACROSS AMERICA” was a great album that spread two peak records to the world, albeit at completely different times. This work is a two-disc set that meticulously polishes this charismatic album without ever changing its essence. This is the best version of the masterpiece engraved in bootleg history.
